We had the good fortune of connecting with Marie Pizano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marie, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“There is no bravery in destroying anyone, Empowerment is rising to the occasion to be part of the solution”

Simply … be the example to be part of the solution that we need in this world. There is no bravery in destruction. Bravery is rising up to be the change.

You got sticks, I got a match and together we can make a fire! Is another one the quotes I repeat.

Many people don’t understand how to live by this simple way to work together with their talent and strength to create a win-win. The only way to find your Yea is to create what benefits not only for yourself, but for others too.

These quotes simply state what we need to do to work together on this earth. Be and live by example and work together!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I wrote a series of books and about to release the workbook. Art always starts with a feeling. You can take a broken heart and turn it into art.
To tell my story in books and now it’s turned into a brand and work of art with the brand logo and superhero character that was inspired by my books.

I wrote From Barefoot To Stilettos™️ Series with “empowerment” in mind. With truth and forgiveness in mind. To release my inner hurts and set them free. I needed a way to express myself and release the truth. We all have a story. Like musicians, artists and filmmakers —it all starts with a “feeling” and expressing yourself in healing through the arts. Being creative releases energy and creativity sparks the mind. Creativity can create genius!

We all come into this world barefoot. We all stumble and fall, but we each have the power to rise up each day and go find our yes!

My yes; isn’t going to be your yes, and vida versa. We each have our own uniqueness and talent. We each have a purpose on this earth to fulfill. We sometimes forget that, but no matter what, nothing will work in your life if your not living on truth and integrity.

To be the best is just being at your best. We don’t have to compete with anyone, because there is only one of you and me. You can’t be me nor can I be you. There is no competition. If we stop listening to those claiming dooms day, and start to get busy living and creating something for the greater good … We all win! We start living! Take a broken heart and turn it into art! Live!!! Love!! Set free and go find your yes!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m originally from Chicago. It’s truly my kind of town. Living in Memphis since 1999 has opened my mind to many possibilities and discoveries. BBQ and music in Memphis, and that southern soul food is something you must come try in the midsouth. Nashville is one of my stomping grounds and favorite places. There’s nothing like relaxing on the beach somewhere tropical. I just like the hometown country feel now. Seeing people that I know, collaborating with creative minds and just being at peace.
I think everyone should seek their favorite place to find peace. To connect with others.
However, my favorite place to eat is at home or just in the company of my children, my family and making memories. I like being creative and making meals in my own kitchen. The best place to be is enjoying good food and good company, and that’s with my children, family and loving friends! You can make any space into a place to connect with good people and even grow your own food too! I’m finding it fun to go to farners markets and meeting people that know how to enjoy life!

I took that feeling and we started our own farners market. Healing community through the arts has really given me an outlet to help others and be creative with the collective too!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents and grandparents built my foundation. My mentor Richard Sandor in business. Many whom I called, “my knights of the round table”, who believed in me by investing in my company to help me build out the vision of an entertainment powerhouse.

Morgan Freeman inspired me to write my book, and Jack Canfield motivated me to stay focused and continue to find my yes.

Many people on the music side, such as, Bret Michaels and Kenny Loggins, Al Bell of STAX, Pat Halloran and Fred Smith of Fedex.

I’ve been blessed, honored and thankful for such kind, talented and smart business leaders who have helped guide me along the way too. Duncan Williams and his team took time to build my first business plan.

Even the naysayers, and who I call “meanie pooters” and those who deceived, manipulated and used the legal process to try to tear me down. Those who done so much wrong, inspired me to do what is right! They pushed me not to give up and fight for what is right. I never want to be like those who do wrong and deceive others. They taught me the truth how you can manipulate the legal system. I had to overcome the unethical and horrible way that people like to abuse others, and the legal process to abuse you. I still can’t believe we have legal people; who actually aid and condone abuse. It’s now fully clear to me how this legal game work and how one can pay an unethical attorney to do whatever within the legal process to try to harm and destroy you based on lies and financially abuse you.
I will never understand nor want to be like those people who lie, steal and cheat. I never want to be destructive and harm people, or children. They have opened my eyes more that people who are hurt can get others who are not in right mind, only in it to profit without any remorse who they hurt or the ripple effect.

Many people lie and it should all tell us that it’s really time for truth and integrity! It is time to step up and really be the change!
