Meet Mariano Mallia | Artist, Music Producer, & Singer/Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mariano Mallia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mariano, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Most of the success that I’ve achieved so far in my music career has simply come down to consistency and dedication to the craft.
It is the seeds we plant today that will determine the harvest we celebrate in the future. With each new day and every small action, we have the ability to create a beautiful future and move one step closer to our ideals. But we must be willing to dedicate ourselves fully.
Every single day, I wake up ready to make music. I am constantly in a whirlwind of writing, recording, mixing, and mastering new songs. It is only the continuous reps day after day over years and years that have allowed me to become the music producer and artist that I am today.
I didn’t always know how to produce music. I didn’t always know how to sing and play a guitar. In fact, I started later in life than most. I made a lot of low quality music before I ever made professional quality music. But through daily exercise, I slowly closed the gap between who I was and who I wanted to be. And I continue to close that gap even further with each passing day.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My name is Mariano Mallia and I am an artist and music producer originally from Delaware and currently living in Nashville, Tennessee.
I have worked with artists from across the country, specializing in folk, acoustic, singer/songwriter, country, and pop production. My growing catalogue has accumulated over a million listens across platforms, and my music has been featured on radio stations across the country, including iHeart Media’s “Nashville”s Next”, 93.7 WSTW, 99.1 Radio Rehoboth, 94.7 WDSD, and WOMR Cape Cod Community Radio.
I pride myself most on crafting emotive stories with raw and authentic production that takes listeners on a journey. One thing that sets me apart from many music producers is my deep level of attention to detail for every project that I work on.
Especially in Nashville, it can often seem like everyone and everything is moving at a mile a minute. The Nashville songwriting and production process can sometimes seem more like a race than an art.
As an artist myself, I understand how important each song is to an artist. A song is like a baby. You want to make sure your baby is always in good hands, and a song is no different. That’s why I give each and every song the attention to detail that it requires, making sure that the artists vision is at the forefront every step of the way. My work isn’t done until the artist is 100% satisfied with the end product.
Additionally, I focus on conducting my work fairly and ethically. I have heard so many production deals gone wrong and producer nightmare stories. My goal is to build a relationship of trust and transparency with the artists I work with. I want them to know that I am there to support them and serve their needs to the absolute best of my ability.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in this journey is that you have to believe in yourself and bet on yourself before anyone else will. Especially in the early stages, people likely aren’t going to be able to see your vision. The world will tell you “no” more times than “yes”. But it’s your job to have faith, trust God, trust the process, and keep going.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would start with The Listening Room. If you want to listen to some of the best and most accomplished writers in town, that has been my favorite place for it. Another favorite music venue of mine is The Local, where you can almost always catch a round of local songwriter or a band playing.
For hot chicken enthusiasts, I will typically take them to Hatty B’s. For our barbecue fans, I will typically take them to Martin’s BBQ.
Another fun place that I’ve recently discovered is an arcade bar called Pins Mechanical. If you like pinball, classic arcade games, ping pong, jenga, miniature bowling, and other games, this is a great place for you!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout my parents for believing in my musical dreams and for being all-in from day one. From the very beginning, they have shown nothing but positivity and support for me in my pursuits, and I am so grateful for that.
I also want to shout out my middle school band director Mr. Baronio, who helped to inspire my love for the performing arts through his passion and his trumpet playing.
