We had the good fortune of connecting with Mallory Dumond and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mallory, what principle do you value most?
In a time of rapid change and evolving business landscapes, one enduring quality stands out to me above others – integrity. Characterized by honesty and unwavering moral principles, integrity is not only a personal virtue of mine, but also a critical part of my business success and is the foundation of success anywhere.

Without trust, business can’t thrive. That trust is cultivated when integrity is present. Clients and customers are more likely to engage when they believe that promises are kept and expectations are met. Businesses that prioritize integrity establish lasting relationships, customer loyalty and positivity.

In the fast-paced world of business, decision-making is a constant challenge. It is in these moments that integrity becomes a guiding force, helping leaders navigate ethical dilemmas and make choices that align with the company’s values and safeguards the reputation of the business. Likewise, leaders who embody honesty and moral fortitude inspire trust among their teams, creating a positive organizational culture. Such a culture, rooted in integrity, stimulates innovation, collaboration, and employee satisfaction, contributing to the overall success of the business.

On a personal level, integrity matters as a guiding value in my life and business as I hope to build a business and reputation that my children can be proud of. C.S. Lewis said that integrity means “doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.” I want my clients, suppliers, family, and friends to always know they are engaging with someone who values her integrity. We say a ship, aircraft, or other vessel lacks integrity when crucial components are no longer strong enough to carry the load or make the journey. It is always my goal to operate my business and personal life in a way that is strong enough for the road ahead.

Integrity matters most to me as it functions as a compass, and in the realm of business, it is the force that builds trust, shapes ethical decision-making, and positions organizations as beacons of responsibility. By upholding integrity in both business and our personal lives, we not only propel our own success but also contribute to a world where business is conducted with transparency, ethics, and a commitment to the greater good.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The road to any perceived success is never easy. It is fraught with doubt, obstacles, and challenges, but as my childhood pastor always says, “It’s not easy, but it’s worth it!” Where I am today as a professional travel advisor was not accomplished without the guidance of mentors, the support of my family, and most of all, the sheer grit and perseverance it takes to just keep getting up again. If I could pass along one lesson I’ve learned along the way, it would simply be that it is okay to fail, fall, and make mistakes as long as you get up more times than you fall down. This commitment to learning, persevering, and serving our clients with excellence is certainly a defining set of characteristics that sets my business apart and is the thing I am the most proud of as I continue in the travel industry.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There is no shortage of options for a good time in the Nashville area. A trip to the area would have to include an evening spent on Broadway for some live music, good food, and the beauty of the lights! My favorite place to eat though would require a trip to Monell’s in Germantown for the best family-style dining and southern comfort foods! And of course, no trip to Nashville would be complete without spending some time admiring history of the music industry that is so rich. The Country Music Hall of Fame, the Johnny Cash Museum, and a tour of the Ryman would be top on my list.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my parents for their unwavering support, my children as my chief motivators, and my husband, Chretien – none of this would be possible without you.
