Meet Maestro Robinson | Actor, Musician, Content Creator, and Social Media Influencer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Maestro Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Maestro, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
Yes, definitely! One of my favorite affirmations goes something like this: “There’s no point of being successful if you’re the only one benefiting from it.” For me, success is measured not only by our career wins, but the wins of those around us -family dynamic, business and personal relationships, and how we inspire and encourage the next generations. When I win, WE win. Selfish success has no traveling power.
On that some note, true success precedes us. It speaks for us when we’re not in the room, and it remains once we’re long gone-much like a respected legacy.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My creative journey hasn’t been an easy one, though it’s been blessing to me and others. For that, I’m eternally thankful! Every stage, film set, and artist collaboration I’ve been involved in is the result of manifesting and speaking the future I want with my words. That’s one of the greatest lessons I’ve learned in my carer. It’s not enough to just “want” it. Even if you want it badly, you have to SPEAK it, BELIEVE it, and move toward it-one step at a time.
Often times, people ask me how I ended up drumming with Selena Gomez and Lil Nas X, or how I-of all people-got the gig drumming on TV shows like Nashville, or in commercials with Snoop Dog. The journey takes time, but the formula is simple. The wallpaper on my iphone says “I am a global phenomenon in the creativity and business of music, television, film, and online content.” That’s not just a cute affirmation. By looking at it and believing it everyday, I make my words my reality. When my videos go viral, or I get an amazing booking, I know that I’m walking in the authority to create the future I desire. Every last one of us has this authority.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a friend visiting me in the LA/SoCal area, here are a few things we’d have to do!
– Downtown LA is has so many moving parts to it that make it amazing, especially in the evening. But before we hit L.A. Live for good eats and possibly a Lakers game, we’ll spend the daytime hours checking out the historic Olvera Street, and a few museums-especially one of my favorites, The Grammy Museum!
– Theme park visits will be mandatory! But we’ll need three separate days to visit the the best three parks-DisneyLand, Universal Studios Hollywood, and Six Flags Magic Mountain. While in Valencia, home of Six Flags, I’ll give my friend a tour of Santa Clarita and surrounding areas-including my jr. high school and high school. We’ll close out the day with a delicious meal at my moms house. She and Magic Mountain are basically neighbors.
– SoCal nature is too good to leave alone, so maybe we’d take a day or two for hiking with the family! Eaton Canyon Waterfall in Pasadena is one I’d recommend, and maybe the Cahuenga Peak Trail to get a good look at the Hollywood sign.
– An LA visit isn’t complete without a trip to a beach or two! The Santa Monica Pier, Venice, and Orange County are homes to a few of my favorite beaches. After a day of chasing waves and tossing the football around, we’ll head back to Hollywood for a meal at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles on Sunset and Gower!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes! I’d like to shoutout Andre “MoDre” Brown, a phenomenal musician, arranger, music director, and one half of The Feel Good Services. Presently he’s based in Auckland, NZ-however, he and I met on the cold streets of Boston-via Berklee College Of Music. I learned so much from Dre while we were in school, and beyond. Things like “playing to a click” (or drum loops) and playing with specific purpose in general was introduced to me from ‘Dre. He’s truly the man!
