We had the good fortune of connecting with Madyson Left and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Madyson, how do you think about risk?
Taking risks is essential for growth, innovation, and authenticity in self-discovery. As I’ve gotten older and had time to reflect on my life, I’ve realized that I’ve constantly pushed boundaries and experimented with my limitations. Bold choices, whether they end in failures or successes, become stepping stones to something greater. I have certainly had more failures than successes, but I am equally grateful for the lessons that both have given me. Risk varies for everyone, depending on the perspective through which it’s viewed. As an artist, I strive to embrace uncertainty. In the end, taking risks isn’t just about making great art—it’s about evolving as an artist.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve been creating music and acting in film for almost all of my life. I’m addicted to it. There have been many times where I’ve dog eared the page of my pursuit of art, but have always pulled the book back off of the shelf. My most recent EP release “Start Again” is a testament to this. The pursuit of art and self expression is full of challenges and rejection, which I have seen my fair share of over the course of a decade. Today, I only care about getting better each day as an artist, pushing my own limits, and staying consistent in creating. A valuable lesson I’ve learned is to stay true to myself, and create unapologetically. If others choose to join and follow me on my journey, I truly appreciate it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Start the day with coffee and pastries at Brightside or Headquarters. Picnic at Centennial or hike at Percy, then siesta writing session in the afternoon. Catch a show at The End, then night caps and darts at Betty’s.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
“Into the Wild” by Jon Krakauer
