Meet Lexi Sidders | Musical Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lexi Sidders and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lexi, what do you want people to remember about you?
In response to the question, sure, I could say my voice or my lyrics, but what really sets me apart is my commitment to keeping it real. I want people to remember me as the artist who laid it all out there—no filters, just genuine and vulnerable. Life hasn’t been a walk in the park for me. Dealing with daily bouts of depression, add in a dash of anxiety, and throw in a six-month stint in an emotionally draining relationship with a narcissist—yeah, it’s been a rollercoaster.
Last year, on July 4th, I met someone in the music biz who promised me the moon and stars. Turns out, I unknowingly signed up for a one-way ticket to drama-ville. Lost my family, friends, some pounds, and worst of all, lost sight of who I was. It looked all glamorous on my Instagram, but trust me, it was more of a horror movie than a romance flick.
Thankfully, I ditched that mess in February and decided to hit pause on music for a bit. Graduated college, patched up relationships, and started putting the pieces back together. Surprisingly, stepping back from the music scene turned out to be the best thing. When the pressure was off, the songs just started flowing.
Out of the pile of tracks, there’s one gem that became my anthem during this whole reinvention journey—call it “Devil’s Advocate.” Yeah, you guessed it, it’s about Mr. Wrong from last year. This track marks the start of a new chapter, and I’m stoked to drop it soon. It’s like my musical rebirth, and I can’t wait to share it with the world!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Absolutely, let’s dive deeper into my artistic journey:
What sets me apart from others in the music scene is my commitment to authenticity. I pride myself on being a storyteller who doesn’t shy away from the raw and real aspects of life. My music is a reflection of my experiences, particularly the tumultuous ride through a toxic relationship and the subsequent process of rebuilding.
I’m most proud of my ability to turn personal struggles into relatable and empowering songs. Despite facing the daily battles of depression and anxiety, I’ve channeled those emotions into my art. What excites me the most is the upcoming release of “Devil’s Advocate,” a track born out of the ashes of adversity. It encapsulates my resilience and newfound strength, marking the beginning of a fresh chapter in my musical journey.
The lessons I’ve learned along the way are invaluable. One key takeaway is the importance of authenticity. Audiences resonate with genuine stories and emotions, and that’s what I strive to deliver. Another lesson is the strength found in vulnerability. Sharing my struggles has not only been cathartic for me but has also created connections with listeners facing similar challenges.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that I’m more than just a musician; I’m a survivor, a storyteller, and an advocate for mental health. My music is a journey through the highs and lows of life, and I hope it resonates with others, offering comfort and inspiration. I want to be a voice for those who may be going through tough times, showing them that there’s strength in embracing vulnerability and that they’re not alone in their struggles.
