We had the good fortune of connecting with Laurén Laurino and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Laurén, what do you attribute your success to?
The current “State”. of the State of Tennessee!

Let’s face it and embrace it that this is the first time in History, we are seeing such an influx of tourism and people from all walks of life and geographical areas gravitating and relocating to the Volunteer State. Me, I’m a ‘hybrid’ Jersey Girl- my Southern Grandmother would blame our poor behavior on our ‘Yankee Blood’ growing up- but was it really her fault for falling in love with a military serviceman from the North stationed at Fort Moore (formerly fort Benning) don’t you think? I was raised by an avid outdoorsman to hunt and fish with an emphasis on survival, sustainability and a garden to table approach to nutrition. A Holistic Lifestyle culmination at its finest before the term was trending. My mother, a politically appointed State Government branch manager instilled in me the importance of being on the front lines with my team and always implementing safety and security procedures. Throughout my educational and career pursuits, when I look back now, the path makes more sense to me than it did in the moment. The success of my brand falls on the shoulders of the myriad of experiences I’ve lived. Knowing how to deliver exceptional customer service, cherry picking massage and spa techniques that I learned from traveling around the world when hosting the first IMDb listed Holistic Lifestyle TV show on public access television in addition to the traditional education requirements. I am going on 20 years as a bodyworker- did you know Tennessee’s minimum educational requirement is only 6 months of education to test for licensure and start working in the field? Most therapists only do the minimum to upkeep their license when it comes to continuing education. This is why we love quoting Ian Harvey know as ‘The Massage Sleuth’ author of ‘Massage is Weird’ and also a TN Native when he says “Massage is like Pizza”… it’s all bread and cheese but once you’ve had one out of a wood burning oven, you’ll know the difference between that and fast food, canned sauce style. None of the therapist on our team have less than 8 years experience- and that says a lot because massage therapy is such a high burnout career. If one can achieve longevity it means they are mindful of themselves and have the attention to detail to deliver an immersive experience to their client. Please do you due diligence and research / interview your therapist- same way you’d google a person before you’d go on a date with them- to see what their specialties are or discern if something might be off. Now don’t get me wrong, just like Picasso or Mozart some therapists are innate out of the gate! This is why we have been working on our partnerships with massage schools, sponsoring promising student therapists for their clinical hours in the field and mentoring them on techniques they just don’t get to in their curriculum. Another part of our success is providing a supplemental income opportunity for experienced therapists where we provide an above average compensation and we partner with luxury and Glamping venues throughout the state and have even been thought partners in the creation of their immersive spa experience.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve worn may hats from food service / hospitality, customer service, state government compliance officer, snow plow operations supervisor, first responder, birth and end of life doula, cover band singer, TV show host / entertainment, Non profit volunteer, event coordinator, CDL Class A and school bus driver, personal assistant…

I’ve always had a passion for creativity and art and this company encompasses everything I’ve ever been passionate about. It is Thankful and not thankless like so many jobs can be. I don’t even have to try to make our social media and website look beautiful because Tennessee, the homes and venues we service just are.

Like attracts like and that is why I / we have been so fortunate to attract the best practitioners, venues and clients to service!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When our luxury concierge plans a custom coordinated itinerary, we always plan like it is for our BFF! We consider their preferred vibe, budget, location, and amenities. We have a ‘venue’ tab on our official website highlighting a handful of our venue partners as far as where to stay. Once you secure your stay with them, you can book your ‘Spa Day’ that comes to you with us! Mostly we find our clients love staying in a tiny home like Retreat at Waters edge in Tracy City, an A-frame cabin overlooking the bluff like Window Rock A-frame in Dunlap, Dome or Treehouse like Terralodge or Bear Hollow with their rustic barn in Monteagle, or the unique one of a kind silos converted into luxury airbnbs like the ones at Promise Manor in Lynchburg not to mention our favorite log cabins at Evergreen Gunter Hollow in Fayetteville, Sasquatch Farm in South Pittsburg that has their own wood burning sauna and spa room that we service. If you have a larger party, Lakefront landing on Tims Ford Lake sleeps 17+! We would of course send our private chef to cook for them onsite or we can cater and deliver. If they’d like a full day itinerary we’d be happy to send a yoga and or fitness instructor, one of our estheticians, our portable spa equipment and more depending on their specific preferences.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband, Chef Jay Hey of Mountain Mobile Meals for being my rock and limitlessly understanding in my undertaking of growing this business.
