We had the good fortune of connecting with Laura Moll and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Laura, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I dove into photography because I love making people feel seen and beautiful. There’s something special about helping my clients feel comfortable and embrace their true selves in front of the camera. I enjoy shining a light on the things that bring them joy and creatively capturing their memories, career milestones, and moments of pride. I have always been creative, but I’ve always wanted to use it to connect with people and make a positive impact on their lives.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
One thing my clients often mention is how at ease they feel around me. It’s important to me that when I step into their homes or personal spaces, they feel safe and comfortable. Building genuine connections with my clients is of the utmost importance to me, and I take pride in that.

Now, about the bumps along the road… Most of mine have been internal battles. It’s like wrestling with my own perfectionist tendencies, critiquing my work and business progress. Dealing with self-criticism is a whole other challenge. I’m thankful to have honest, supportive and good people in my life that push me to believe in myself and grow in the areas I need to.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love Nashville! I would definitely take them to Broadway (tourists love Broadway), 12th south, Franklin, liepers fork, Columbia. I love coffee, and love so many good coffee shops in the Nashville, Franklin, Thompsons Station area. If there’s a concert, I’d definitely take them. I love that Nashville has so many fun, exciting things to do and see.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My dad was my ultimate cheerleader. Whenever I had a dream, he was right there, pushing me forward. He even got me my first camera and encouraged me to go after what I wanted. He always made me feel unstoppable, pushing me to improve and stay ahead of the game while also grounding me with some reality checks. He let me be the free spirited, daydreamer I’ve always been, and never made me feel bad about it.

My clients-turned-friends have been an incredible support system too. They’ve stuck by me from the beginning, always rooting for my success. They’re a huge part of why I’m still in love with photography and why I’m constantly growing in this field, always striving to serve them better.
