Meet Kice Akkawi | DJ, Producer, CEO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kice Akkawi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kice, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The demand drove the supply. I started DJ’ing professionally in 2007 and near the year 2015 is when venues started asking me for help to get their talent bookings in line. The rest was history.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Kice Akkawi, known as KICE, is a pinnacle of entrepreneurship, forging a unique path by blending his acclaimed music career with multiple innovative businesses. What sets KICE apart is his pioneering spirit – no other prominent DJ has ventured into business quite like him. Based in Chicago, his influence resonates through Treblemonsters, an agency he founded that has revolutionized the music and entertainment scene. KICE and team curate a fusion of music and unique interactive experiences, with their signature DJ x Instrumental Artist sets among the most notable. KICE also defies convention by managing both music and business careers while producing a groundbreaking new house music album that features exclusive artists from his roster. Among his ventures Treblemonsters leads the pack, boasting 19 exclusive artists and orchestrating over 200 performances each weekend. Their influence redefines playlists and enlivens hospitality venues, bars, clubs, and concerts. Complementing this is Treble Experiences, a division dedicated to delivering unparalleled performances for weddings and corporate events. Another KICE brainchild, Treble AV, supports both segments with cutting-edge audiovisual installations and live production services. KICE’s innovative dexterity sets him apart in the entrepreneurial arena, breaking barriers between music and business. As a leading force among 2023’s top entrepreneurs, KICE continues to inspire by reshaping the synergy between entertainment and hospitality, proving that artistic vision and entrepreneurial acumen can harmoniously coexist.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If this was in Chicago I would start off with a dinner at Lyra then walk over for a Cigar on the invite-only Fioretta Penthouse. From there, we would pop in at Bandit for a little DJ/Live Music action. Lastly, we would probably end up at Bodega Nightclub in River North.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This is most likely the cheesiest line I am ever going to say. But, myself. There was no role model or anyone who helped me put this business together. I started it from scratch with a very unique business model. I do however recommend the book Never Split the Difference: Negotiating As If Your Life Depended On It by Chris Voss.
