Meet Kenya Dalton | Entrepreneur & Holistic Esthetician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenya Dalton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kenya, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I never imagined starting a business, I always wanted to pursue something medical to help others. Until one day, I was faced with the worst acne I’ve ever encountered. Must have been the stress of the world & negative influences triggering a breakout. I searched the internet for hours on how to clear my skin. I tried every home remedy, expensive product and professional treatments, yet nothing was right for me. Until, something clicked – God gave me the idea to curated something for me.
What should our readers know about your business?
The difference between Perfect Rx Skincare and other brands is we always promote authenticity. We don’t capitalize off insecurities. We don’t have a image to maintain. Everything is relatable because it’s true. The growth is real time. The results are real people. We connect emotionally. I’m most excited about our relaunch PRx 3.0! Having a business is not easy, especially when you’re a one woman show with thousands of prospects. I’ve lost everything before, just for God to turn it around and bless me with more. I’ve learned how to communicate with people. I’ve learned patience. I’ve learned organization and team leadership. I’m still learning what it takes to be the best CEO. I want the world to know that perfection isn’t linear, it’s our imperfections that make us special. Perfect Rx isn’t just about clearing the skin, but we are focused on your authentic healing journey. This is the “prescription” to becoming the perfect version of yourself. Pouring love into yourself, so you can easily love others.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A week with me will be a total reset, first we will start our morning off with a wellness shot and some fresh fruit. I love nature so we would stroll downtown and take in the scenery, listen to the birds chirping. For a aesthetic lunch, Char. The crab claws 10/10! Next, I love the Brooks museum or a Art Show. Art inspires. Spend the day at the Botanical Garden, journal and express gratitude for being present.
Depending on how hungry I am, I’ll usually go for tropical smoothie if I want something quick and lite.
It wouldn’t be a trip without the Spa, I love a good selfcare day. The Feathers Spa + sauna and steam room is the recipe for relaxing.
To mix up the vibe and meet people, Cru is the spot. The music, the lamb chops and lemon drops. It’s always lively and you see so many people it’s easy to network.
End the week at Hu Roof, overlooking the water and bridge.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I sometimes have to pinch myself because the Perfect Rx Skincare community supports me like a family. All of my customers have a special place in my heart. When I get discouraged, overwhelmed, unmotivated, I never can hit the ground. My customers are my light. They continue to give me reasons to improve not only as a business owner, but as a person. I COULD NOT be here if it wasn’t for them. My customers give me perseverance and endurance. They are everything to me.
