We had the good fortune of connecting with Keemon Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Keemon, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk has played a major role in my life. One major risk that got me here today was leaving University of Houston to start my clothing brand. Growing up school was a priority for me, but as I grew older the leaned more towards the peace in clothing. This led me to put school aside and put that energy into my brand. Taking this big step has constructed me into the person I am today. Without prioritizing my vision, I would not have the fulfillment I have now.

What should our readers know about your business?
I got to where I am business-wise by not being scared to be uncomfortable, networking, embracing my craft, researching, and going through trials and errors. Getting here was not easy as I faced many challenges. However, I overcame the challenges by pushing through the process step by step instead of letting them discourage me. Some lessons I learned along the way is that everything isn’t going to happen the way you expect it too, have patience, and actually put in the effort to accomplish your goals. I want y’all to know that life get a little less bumpy when you follow what you find peace in. Voguishbreed is more than just a clothing brand. Voguish Breed is for individuals who live through their unique styles. Our goal is to build life-long connections with the voguish community and provide pieces that will push self-fulfillment and movements.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some great spots to visit, in my hometown, Beaumont, TX are Alice Keith Park, Parkdale Mall, John Seafood, The Park, La Salsita, The Southeast Texas State Fair, downtown area, Taco Loco, etc. Furthermore, Beaumont is a small city, but we still manage to shoot to the top in great ways such as in our clothing, crafts, food, music, night life, education, and sports community.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First off, I want to thank God for giving me the mindset, vision, and tools I needed to follow my purpose. Next, I want to show appreciation to all my family members, friends, supporters, and business partners for not only encouraging me to keep going, but also helping me with seeing the potential I sometimes struggle to see in myself.
