We had the good fortune of connecting with Kazuha Oda and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kazuha, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Have discipline, patience, and never be arrogant.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I write songs and perform for everyone, especially for people who goes through hard times physically/mentally. I wish my music can give people hope and that it can make their life better or brighter.

I am grateful for where I am today professionally. Being a touring musician is not always easy, but I am happy that I am able to do things I love.

People often asks what are the lessons I’ve learned along the way… I believe some of the most important habits are discipline and patience. Once you become arrogant, you will stop evolving. I think it’s important to know your capability and keep evolving.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m from Japan but as a musician, I’m based in Memphis Tennessee at the moment. I hope my friends will visit Memphis! I would definitely take them to downtown for some good live music.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to Music Export Memphis who chose me and my band Kazha as their Official Ambassadors. They have been supporting our activities since 2018.
