We had the good fortune of connecting with Katrina Manor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katrina, how do you think about risk?
I hate taking risks. To me, risks are chances you take without hypothesis. When I don’t know the outcome of an action, I’m less likely to take it. But with my career, I have to take huge risks to be an Artist. It’s a risk to release music and allowing people to hear your unfiltered thoughts because It’s vulnerable. As a child, I would be scared to show people my music due to the honesty I wrote with. I’m slowly recognizing risks as a stepping stool instead of a mean club bouncer who won’t let you in because of how I feel.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My purpose in life is to help people recognize the power they have. We all have a ball of energy that is waiting for us to utilize it to our benefit! I believe when we are in alignment with ourselves we are resonating with our purpose. I was out of alignment until the end of 2022. I realized I was making music for my ego and to be seen. Since then, I’ve been going through a rebranding with my message and morals. I’m happy to say music is on the way with a brand that I feel really good about.

I love blending the Rnb and Jazz together! They are both genres that pull from emotions and energies. They both ahava way of being person but out-of-body at the same time. I love learning about different fashions of music. I start my last semester of college getting certificates in Commercial Music and Music Entrepreneurship in the Spring of 2024. I want to get my feet in the sand for two or three years before going back for my degree in Music Entrepreneurship or Music Business!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m born and raised in Los Angeles. I would say one of my favorite places to visit is Acai Jungle Cafe in Burbank! If you love acai and love the tropical aesthetic, this place is a great blend of the two! The food they offer is also necessary on the itinerary, My favorite is the grilled cheese and The B.L.A.T, they add avocado!

I would also recommend going to Monrovia to sight see, especially in the christmas cheer! As a city, Monrovia give this familiar feeling like when you visit your grandparents for the holidays. If you have a few hours to spare and you want to explore, here’s the spot!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a lovely Shoutout to two people. One being Maestro! He is the perfect example of you never know who your meeting. As a creative he’s courageous and inspiring. It because of him that we are talking so a big thank you to him.

Secondly, I would lovelt give an amazing shoutout to Sohomski Mullins. He’s the most musical person I think i’ve ever met in my life. He has the most beautiful outlook on life and music. Not only is he a great musician but a superstar friend. He’s always there to push me when I’m out of alignment as well as being so steadfast in growth. Truly, wouldn’t have found my voice and stepping into the power I’m meant to without him.
