We had the good fortune of connecting with Karen Waldrup and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Karen, why did you pursue a creative career?
Because I love music

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I sing and make music for people to enjoy! What separates me from others is I truly love my fans and we have a “Waldrup Worldwide” community over 1 Million Strong. That alone gifts me with an incredible life because those people love me like family and I love them too! I am most proud of my ability to make a difference in the world through music by just being a good person and giving back when you can. Was it easy? Well, it’s always easier when you’re looking back at all the hard work, isn’t it? But the answer is no…it wasn’t easy. But man it has been fun.

I overcome my challenges by not having a plan B. I just never even entertatined it not working and it did because I believed. I think you really have to believe in yourself most in order to do this because it does take a ton of self discipline, sacrifice and diligence! I want the world to know they are welcome in our community of music lovers as long as they are nice. They are welcome!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If it were a week long trip & I had a friend come to Nashville- we would for sure go for a spa day & spoil ourselves. Franklin has a ton of great shopping and hangouts. We would go to 3rd & Lindsley to listen to a great band, eat at Hattie B’s (because it’s so Nashville) and go to the rooftop Bourbon Steak Nashville (because I still haven’t gone yet but it looks so amazing!) Nashville has the most incredible food so we would go get lost in the city eating at delicious restaurants and exploring. I love the live music scene so I would suggest people look for original music when they come here at places like The Listening Room and The Basement East

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
