We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaitlyn Croker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kaitlyn, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Like anything else, staying grounded amidst all that’s going on around you is the key to moving forward. Keeping up with my core group of musician friends, relying on my team for advice, and remaining disciplined in my morals has never steered me wrong! Of course, I’m always looking for advice from my more seasoned friends on how to keep the work-life balance!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
In an industry that is saturated with talent, it’s so important to be as original as you possibly can and stay true to yourself. Setting out to be unique is what people attach to and appreciate. (I feel like if you are competing with others, you’re doing it wrong. We believe in a team approach. I’m genuinely rooting for the person on stage next to me. I believe a win for one is a win for all of us! I aim to bring a patriotic message during some part of my show as the daughter of an F-16 fighter pilot. The military community is one I proudly serve and am honored to play any kind of role in. As for my music, I write the experiences I live and release it when the time is right; as simple as that! I grew up on 90’s country and 80’s pop so the music that is set to be released this year reflects just that.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If you’re looking for a fun-filled visit in Nashville, your days are going to start early and end very late. Personally, one of my favorite things to do in the morning is go to coffee shops so I’d head on over to Nashville Coffee. Since this shop is right next to the Grand Ole Opry, we’d obviously make a pit stop there. The backstage tour will give you the most surreal experience. After we take in the incredible sights, there’s a nearby outdoor walking path with beautiful views. Next, we can grab a mid-day bite at Paris Baguette. You will not regret it. Then, the perfect visit in this city would include live music. I love seeing people’s faces as they take in broadway for the first time; music coming from every bar and musicians running from one gig to the next. Lastly, you can’t go to Nashville without going to a writer’s round and you’re in luck because, Chief’s (Eric Church’s bar) puts on intimate shows on their third floor every night. Hearing the stories behind why songs are written can be such a moving thing. I do believe songwriters are the heart behind Nashville. Well there you have it. Hope you enjoyed your time!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
If you know me, you know how involved my family is. My parents have managed my career since I first started performing. My brothers help sell merch when they’re back home from college. The most impactful thing, not just on the part of my parents, but the entire family was moving to Nashville in an effort to help me purse a career as a singer/songwriter. They always have my best interest at heart and never lead me astray. Both of my parents encouraged me at a young age to pursue whatever it was that I felt led to do and have stayed by my side every step of the way. To be completely honest, without their support, I’m not sure I would be in Nashville living my dream.
