Meet Kai Sutton | Empowerment Coach & Activist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kai Sutton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kai, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
Yes, I believe so. As a parent I’ve always taught my children to do 2 major things in life:
1)Always be kind to others, to treat people the way you want to be treated and the rewards of your kindness will overflow on many areas of your life.
2) Always be an advocate for yourself. Don’t be afraid to speak up and stand up for yourself in world.
Now that most of my children are adults, they constantly thank me for teaching them those two main lessons along with many others.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Collector of Stories I dedicate my life to empowering others to share their stories. I truly believe there is a deep form of healing in storytelling. Storytelling is an are in many forms. I’m most proud of the women and girls who come to me and say that I’ve encouraged them to be bold, honest and free. Bringing people closer to their most authentic selves is my most biggest accomplishment. I’ve got to where I am today just by supporting others, helping people to believe in themselves.
I want the world to know that your truth really will see you free. The truth needs no protection because it holds no lie. As long as you can sleep at night with a clear heart and mind, you’re always successful. Your reward is due and on the way.
The biggest success moment was when I realized I deserved to live, to live free, out loud and without fear of judgement. The deeper I discovered my own self interests and values, the more I became alive. None of that came easy. I lost allot of people along the way, I cried allot of tears and I had to sit in a state of pause but it was all worth it.
I learned to love myself — The biggest gift you could ever give.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my best friend to the plant stores. We love the peace and natural sounds of nature. Then we’d go dancing — We love to dance like no one is watching. Then we’d sit next to each other, on our phones in silence and just laugh at funny memes we find online. We do this so the time.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes, my mother. Once I began to understand her, learn more about her past, forgive her for the mistakes and things I held in as a child — I began to see her. See her for who she is and for ask that she sacrificed and struggled through. I realized I’m so much like her in the best ways. She’s a major contributor to my life and to who I am today. She’s my shero— Lady J
