We had the good fortune of connecting with John Lyons and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi John, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
As a student majoring in music business, I would want to be remembered as someone who pushed the boundaries of how music is marketed, distributed, and experienced. Innovative marketing strategies, I aim to leave a mark on the industry by fostering new ways for artists to connect with their audiences and thrive in this digital age.

Secondly, I aspire to be known for upholding and promoting artistic integrity and authenticity. Ultimately, I hope that my legacy in the music industry will inspire future generations of students and professionals to innovate fearlessly while staying true to the core values of creativity and integrity. The end goal is to be able to work my way up to a senior position in the industry and to truly show what I am able to create in order to create the most revenue for the company I will be working for.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My journey as a student pursuing the music industry has been shaped by dedication, perseverance, and a passion for innovation. What sets me apart is my relentless pursuit to get my foot in the door of the industry.

The path hasn’t been easy. Like many in this competitive field, I faced challenges. I learned to persevere through setbacks, leveraging each experience to refine my skills and deepen my understanding of the industry’s nuances.

What I’m most proud of is not just reaching milestones but doing so while staying true to my values. Collaboration and authenticity have been central to my journey, and they continue to drive my efforts to innovate and elevate standards within the industry.

Looking forward, I want the world to know that my brand is synonymous with innovation, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to advancing the artistry and business of music. I aspire to leave a lasting impact that enriches both the industry and the audience’s experience. I remain dedicated to pushing boundaries, fostering creativity, and shaping a future where music thrives in all its forms.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In Nashville, I am 100% taking my friends to Broadway. My favorite restaurants in the area are Velvet Taco and Brown’s Diner. I still feel pretty new to Nashville since I’ve been a Texas boy my whole life, so I’m still getting use to the area.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to thank everyone at Romeo Entertainment Group for guiding me in learning the ways of the music industry. I would love to give a huge shoutout to the mentorship of Brian Crews and Michelle Romeo. Under their guidance, I have developed into a knowledgeable and driven professional, equipped with the skills to navigate and excel in this dynamic field. Their dedication to teaching and their commitment to excellence have not only honed my technical abilities but also instilled in me a deep appreciation for the art of talent buying. I am grateful for their mentorship, which continues to inspire and guide me as I strive to pursue a career in the music industry.
