Hi John Henry, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Life can be scary and we may feel that taking a risk may lead to a loss. Well, it definitly might lead to a loss but it can also lead to the greatest opprotunity ever so the question you have to ask yourself is, what is a greater risk? Taking a risk and failing but knowing you have another opportunity or never taking a risk a ensurring you’ll never make it. Jump take a deepo breath and jump! You’ll thank yourself later.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
These are great questions and I feel I can write an entire book on each one! But here are some on my views. Growing up in the South Bronx as a Puerto Rican, my journey has been shaped by a rich cultural heritage and the resilience instilled in me by my family. My filmmaking and music career eventually led me to start a talent agency to help other artists, driven by my deep love and respect for their craft. Above all, being a father is the most important thing in my life, fueling everything else I do.
What sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart is my personal journey and commitment to authenticity. Having risen from the South Bronx, I understand the challenges that come with pursuing artistic dreams in the face of adversity. My cultural background and experiences give me a unique perspective, allowing me to connect with artists on a deeper level and help them navigate the industry with empathy and insight. My role as a father further deepens my drive, inspiring me to create a better world for my children and setting an example of perseverance and dedication.
What are you most proud of or excited about?
I’m most proud of establishing my talent agency, which not only supports but uplifts emerging artists. The excitement comes from seeing these artists succeed and knowing that I played a part in their journey. The joy of helping others realize their potential is immeasurable. Additionally, I am incredibly proud of being a father and the impact it has on my outlook and motivation.
How did you get to where you are today professionally? Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges?
Getting to where I am today was far from easy. The path was fraught with financial struggles and societal barriers, but my determination and the unwavering support of my family kept me going. I overcame challenges by staying true to my roots, seeking mentorship, and continuously honing my skills. The resilience and hard work that I learned growing up in the South Bronx were crucial in facing and overcoming these obstacles. My role as a father has also been a significant source of strength and inspiration, pushing me to keep going even in the toughest times.
What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way?
I’ve learned that persistence and adaptability are key. Surrounding yourself with supportive and like-minded individuals is invaluable. Additionally, embracing my heritage and personal story has been empowering, allowing me to bring a unique voice to my work. Fatherhood has taught me the importance of patience, responsibility, and leading by example.
What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I want the world to know that my brand is built on a foundation of resilience, cultural pride, and a deep love for the arts. My story is one of overcoming adversity and using my platform to support and elevate other artists. Through my talent agency, I aim to create opportunities and foster a community where artists can thrive and express their true selves. Most importantly, I want people to know that being a father fuels my passion and purpose, driving me to create a better future for my children and all the artists I work with.

Way too many to thank so I’ll just add everyone! 🙂 I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my grandparents and mother, whose unwavering support has been my foundation through every challenge and triumph. Growing up in the South Bronx with very little, their belief in me was the driving force that helped me make it as a filmmaker and musician.
Additionally, I’d like to recognize my family and close friends for their constant encouragement, as well as the mentors and teachers who have guided me with wisdom and patience, imparting knowledge and life lessons that have shaped who I am today.
A special mention goes to the various organizations and communities I’ve been part of, where I’ve met incredible individuals who inspire and push me to grow continuously.
Lastly, to the authors and thinkers whose works have influenced my journey, your words have been a source of strength and inspiration. Thank you all for being a part of my story.
