Meet John Cureton | Founder & President

We had the good fortune of connecting with John Cureton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi John, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I personally have always enjoyed the thrill of building something and watching it succeed. I was consulting in the cannabis space in Tennessee and saw the need for a luxury experience, as not many retails outlets at the time were focused on providing something unique. So, not much – It didn’t take a lot to convince me to pursue this path. I saw a need for a very specific product and took the appropriate steps to make that dream come true.
I wanted to provide an experience in the cannabis space, not just another SKU or fly-by-night brand. The concept for Burning Acre, Co. was born from the need for a unique cannabis experience through education, quality and almost impossible standards.
I was dead-set on providing products that surpass expectations and continue to evolve and impress.
Owning your own business takes a lot of hard work, sacrifice and effort – all of which are in my wheelhouse. I love the idea of providing an environment that staff can flourish and feel heard. Giving an opportunity to someone is a gift no money can buy. I love to help mentor other entrepreneurs in business acumen and helping them realize their dream.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Burning Acre, Co. is a 15x award-winning company. We are proud to provide our customers with organic, locally sourced ingredients. We are Tennessee’s largest luxury edible company, dab bar and comedy club! I am most proud of the work Burning Acre, Co. has done to help support vets, feed the less fortunate, bettering a quality of life and more. I am very proud of the team of hard working individuals that show up everyday to help build this dream.
It most certainly has not been easy, in-fact, the challenges we face daily, provide the best motivation of anything. Staying positive and goal-oriented is vital, as fear is the killer of joy.
Take Away from Burning Acre, the story of hard work. Hard work and persistence will always pay off, it will always reward you. We are grateful to our customer base that has positioned us as an industry leader. Our commitment to clean food is something that we live and die by, we truly believe that you can heal a lot with cannabis and organic food.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’d have to explore a lot! From downtown Nashville to Fall Creek Falls, there are many attractions in this amazing state. The food is to die for and the people are always friendly.
