We had the good fortune of connecting with Jerod Bolt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jerod, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I think the most important factor in my success is God and just being authentic to myself and following my instincts. Branding for me happened naturally. Partnering with Six Hats Supply Company and Flag and Anthem Clothing lined up perfectly as the common interests were the same. I would say the ultimate successor for me has been my loyal fan base who know me and feel connected to what I do. Being real and honest about who you are as an artist is what it’s all about.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think what sets me apart from others is my ability to write songs and performing them live with confidence. The best part of what I get to do is hearing how one of my songs has impacted somebody after a show. What I’m most excited about is getting the opportunity to release new music that is different than previous releases. I’m always in a creative headspace so when one song is being put out, another one is on the way. For me it’s writing in ways that is unique and refreshing for listeners. I would say I got where I am today simply by going out and and doing the work. That means networking, making phone calls, emails, traveling, and seizing all the opportunities that I can to be successful. Nothing good comes easy, and music is definitely not a normal job. There has been a lot of moments where I felt like giving up, but you always have those special ones in your corner, who keep you encouraged and keep you reminded of who you are and why you started doing music in the first place. There are always lessons and things to learn in this business. Being easy to work with, dependable and hard-working goes along way as well as respect for others. I think failure in this business should be embraced. It’s very important as a way to mature and grow. After every show, I will write down new ideas or come up with ways to improve in the future whether it’s my performance, setlist, or whatever I think will better the overall live experience. What I’d like the world to know about me and my brand is being able to share life experiences in timeless songs that speak messages through music. I hope people will see me as a humble and normal country boy who grew up on a farm in Indiana.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would have to say the upper peninsula of north Michigan during the winter time. We would spend the whole time traveling by snowmobiles through the backcountry of mountainous terrains and trails that will take you through small towns with great places to eat and lodge for the evening. It’s an experience that is literally breathtaking. The best part is will always meet new and interesting people along the way and make new friends.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We’ve all heard it said there is no I in team and for an aspiring music artist, a team is everything. I of course have to give a huge shoutout to my band for all their hard work. Each member of my band has spent countless hours rehearsing, time away from family and more. They are my family away from family.

Secondly, my personal sound engineer Mark Hoffman who is the face of our sound. Is hard work and dedication is unmatched.

I also want to recognize my Nashville producer, Chris Condon of “Lust for Tone” who brings my songs to life with the best musicians in all of Nashville.
