Meet Jenny Lynn | Owner and Lead Wedding Planner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenny Lynn and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jenny, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Relationships. The relationships we form with our couples, team members, venues, and vendors are crucial to the success of our business. Without these strong partnerships, we would not be where we are today. Chattanooga is a tight-knit community, so word of mouth goes a long way. We are thrilled to say, that most of our leads are referrals from local venues, fellow wedding vendors, or former BTV couples, so prioritizing these relationships is a huge priority for us. We absolutely love being a part of the Chattanooga wedding industry and are so grateful for all of the amazing vendors and couples who recommend us to newly engaged couples without hesitation!
What should our readers know about your business?
At Before the Vows, we treat every wedding like it is “opening night.” We realize the incredible honor it is to plan and coordinate one of the most joyful days of a couple’s life, and we do not take that lightly. Each and every couple we work with is incredibly important to us. We want all of our couples to feel seen, heard, and celebrated throughout the engagement process and on their wedding day. Every one of the couples we work with is unique and has different needs and priorities. At BTV, we seek to understand our couples and their vision at a deep level, so we can plan and design a wedding that is everything they envisioned and more. We believe that your planning team should be your biggest advocates, cheerleaders, and support system for you and your partner. At Before the Vows, you are not just “another couple” to us, but a cherished friend.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love this question! An ideal day in Chattanooga would start with a scenic walk in Coolidge Park (with my dog PJ, of course) followed by delicious pastries and coffee at Niedlov’s. Depending on the weather, we would head to The Common House and get a day pass for the pool and would stay there all afternoon tanning and sipping frozen drinks by the pool. For dinner, we would head to Main Street Meats for the BEST burger and fries ever. After that, we would end the night with cocktails in the garden at Rosecomb.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband, Evan, is the reason I am where I am today. Without him, I would not have taken a leap of faith and left the only career I have ever known to pursue my passion. He believed in me and knew what I was capable of when I couldn’t see it. He encouraged me to take risks because with great risk comes great reward. Two and a half years after starting my business, he still remains my biggest cheerleader, strongest support system, and number one fan. I know without a shadow of a doubt that Before the Vows would not be what it is today without his support and encouragement.
