Meet Jennifer Mahan | Professional Photographer
We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Mahan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My very first job was at a professional photography studio when I was just fifteen years old. I was captivated by the creative images but more importantly the nostalgia of the photographs themselves and what they mean to us. I saw the love that was poured into clients viewing their images and I wanted to be able to share that joy with them. Creating our own little stands against time, capturing our tiny toddlers learning to walk or seeing grandma opening her birthday presents. Each photo we take holds that memory in time, and we get to revisit it as often as we want and to me that is priceless.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been a profession photographer for over 25 years. It was my first full time job at age 15 and I was hooked from there. All of my successes throughout the years are attributed to my amazing supportive family, friends and most importantly my clients who trust me to capture their special moments. I truly believe photography is our own little stand against time. We can grab it, and freeze frame the exact moment. We are then able to revisit it as often as possible, Relive the experience, remember the loved ones, feel the same feelings we did when the moment was captured. It is all so incredibly nostalgic and illustrates our lives in a way like nothing else can. I am so thankful for the support I have received over the years that has allowed me the opportunity to live my dream, open my studio and share it with others as well. I get to witness so many amazing milestones in my clients’ lives, and I get to grow with their families & celebrate their accomplishments. To be entrusted with such an honor is very special and I hope to continue to bring love & light to everyone and everything through my lens.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a foodie at heart so all of my hangout, fun times would be geared towards supporting the locals. I love touring around to find those special hidden gems that offer the most amazing experiences. And of course, seeking out the best band scenes to enjoy all of the fantastic music the city has to offer. With so much history and entertainment, this city truly offers something for everyone to be able to enjoy.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The main people who deserve all of the credit are my children, husband, family and my amazing clients. I have been incredibly fortunate in the amount of support I have received over the years from so many avenues. My family has always believed in me and encouraged me to shoot for the stars. Most of my clients have become close friends and help me tremendously with their recommendations, posts, shares and overall friendship.
