Meet Jennifer Hobbs | Wedding Chapel Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Hobbs and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Managing a business shares similarities with nurturing a child, requiring continual adaptation and reassessment. While one can learn and apply established techniques, real-world situations often deviate from predictions, highlighting the importance of flexibility, adaptability, and patience as essential qualities in entrepreneurship. Lacking these traits can lead to unavoidable errors.
Growing up in multiple households due to divorce taught me early on that different environments come with different rules. While it may have seemed challenging, this experience instilled in me the ability to switch gears effortlessly, a skill that has proven invaluable in my entrepreneurial journey.
In business, we often encounter unforeseen circumstances, requiring quick adjustments. I’ve honed the art of adapting to new situations without hesitation. If a decision proves wrong, I swiftly pivot. Adapting has become second nature, and I embrace it. Confronting fear head-on is crucial for success, something I’ve witnessed both as a business owner and an employee. Learning from the successes and failures of others has enriched my understanding.
For business owners, embracing change and discarding what doesn’t work is paramount. Fearlessly trying new approaches and staying attuned to the evolving landscape is essential, as rigid adherence to outdated practices can lead to failure. Be open to change, willing to innovate, and ready to embrace new ideas to thrive in the ever-shifting world of business.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I purchased and now operate an existing Wedding Chapel in Nashville, Tennessee. It had been a dream, or at least a yearning, to be in the wedding business for years. This was a significant departure from my previous endeavors, so it required a significant adjustment to begin.
Our focus is on small-sized weddings, with our maximum capacity being around 40 people. We aim to offer couples a comparable experience to larger venues, just on a more intimate scale. Don’t give up on your dreams; they can become a reality on a smaller scale. Additionally, we’ve discovered that smaller weddings tend to feel more intimate, which we cherish.
The most significant challenge was transitioning from a corporate, competitive environment to a more delicate and nurturing business. It’s been a journey of shedding a tough exterior in the business world to embrace a softer, more loving approach. We strive to provide a warm and loving space where two lives can unite as one. Witnessing so much love in our little chapel has been an incredible honor. Each love story is unique and inspiring, and we believe they all deserve to be celebrated.
Our commitment is to continue being a place of love and unity. In a world filled with discord, the idea of love and its profound power must be shared. While our next chapter is still unwritten, our mission is to offer hope to others. Stay tuned for what comes next!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
