Meet Jenna Decker | Vacation Rentals/Design + Women’s Empowerment Mentor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenna Decker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jenna, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
Success is a concept we have to measure for ourselves. To take out the competition, the comparing, the ranking that others, society, history places on us. It’s an inside job. How do I know I am successful? Because I am healthy, happy, contributing to the world to make it better, living out my life + fulfillment. Those are some of the attributes and actions that make me successful. And also the counterpart’s where I may find myself being human + making mistakes, having failures to grow from, the challenges to get through in life. Those are success too, if I chose to conquer them, go through them with grace + learn and become better. We have one life on this earth to do and be all that fulfills us and if we can be on that path, happy + thriving each day by our own standards, well that’s success to me.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When it comes to wanting to do it all, have it all, be it all, I believe you can within reason. We get set on what life should look like, thinking it has to be a certain way. I have two careers/businesses right now + growing. I am not the only one. But I am not the majority. The challenge of overcoming others worries, the stigma of culture and society saying it should look one way and not the way I was doing it for years was a challenge to defeat. It is especially difficult when the people closest to you are singing those lines.
I have a strong meditation/yoga practice that is also a lifestyle, a way of living and thinking. Through my work as a women’s empowerment mentor and the work I do on myself constantly, personally + to learn to be better for clients I have found tools to overcome those challenges + reframe the narrative. When it becomes your mindset, your way of living daily.. it makes the challenges less + less noticeable and your life seems to flow.
Although it may not always be an easy road I challenge you to find what truly sets your soul on fire, admit + hold on it, create it + make it yours. Drown out the noise that tells you to do or be something different. Failures, mistakes, changing your mind, it’s all part of the process, it does not mean anyone or anything was right. Keep going. Create the life you desire. Career, personally, do it all, have it all.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When I show people Nashville it’s typically the “outskirts.” Broadway is cool and all but let’s go see some history, learn some new things, experience the outdoors and make some memories.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The success on my path has been fueled, supported by a group of mentors/leaders, my yogic/meditation practice/lifestyle + a wonderfully loving network of friends, colleagues + family. The motivation and love is unmeasureable!
