We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeff Yarbrough and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jeff, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have been in business for myself almost all my life, but my fascination with cinematography and directing brought this from a hobby 12 years ago onto the front burner about 4 years ago. I knew my love of film and my desire to do things right would be a serious asset.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been told by friends and clients that I have a very creative eye. I am always on the lookout for the “creative angle” that I feel gives me an edge. Anyone can throw a camera up and start filming…..but there is always so much more to consider. I want to shoot in a way that accentuates unique features of the scene…or the lighting…etc. It must be interesting!!! My clients also appreciate the fact that I always try to be prepared for any situation. Throughout my life, I have tried to be as flexible as a rubber band…makes it much easier to pivot quickly instead of reacting badly. Sometimes the best scenes are not in the script.
I would like my clients to know that no matter how big or small the project is, they will get a team that is passionate about excellence, and has a strong work ethic, with deliverables that always exceed expectations.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I really do love my Nashville. I have had invitations to move elsewhere…some were pretty lucrative, like Orlando, San Antonio, etc. but I don’t want to leave TN. Besides the film industry, I dabble in music, and some of the other arts as well…everything is here. The Frist Museum is great, and a concert at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center is a MUST. As the owner of 3 houseboats, I spend a LOT of time on the water, and Percy Priest Lake is minutes from downtown, right by the airport. Live music downtown is always fun and I have lots of musician friends that are always playing great music somewhere close.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I married Sheri Thrower in November of 2023 and she is a constant source of encouragement, and a wise business ally, since she is deep in the music and film business as well.
