We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Lang and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmine, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most distinguished factor about the success of my brand is that I didn’t quit. Also, I know that anything is possible if I have a plan in place and follow up on what I set out to do even if things don’t go as planned. My brand has been a series of trial and error, but I always learn and make it a win in the end.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is makeup. Not only Glamorous makeup but SFX makeup as well, which is special effects makeup. My dream is not only to be a makeup artist for models and the day to day person, but to create makeup looks for sci Fi and horror films. I am the most excited about expanding and learning from others through networking. I’ve gotten this far by networking with people I come in contact with on a daily basis and the lesson I’ve learned through this is to seize every opportunity that is thrown my way because I will never know the outcome until I try. What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that this was not something I stumbled upon or Luck. I’ve catered to my craft, poured into my craft, prayed over it and nurtured it until it came into fruition. Luck is when opportunity meets preparation and I’ve been preparing my whole life for what is to come.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Coming to the city of Memphis, TN it’s only right to start the day with a finger licking brunch at Toasted Yolk in the Germantown area. The breakfast choices are endless and more than good. If you want to have family time with children I would visit Tom Lee park for a beautiful open space with great views, vibrant colors and play sets. For the older crowd I would head down to Beale street for some site seeing to get a great idea of where blues began. Also I would go to Fat Tuesday for tasty drinks, which is on the same street. If you are up for an adventurous activity I would go down to the Bass pro shop located inside the pyramid where you can watch live ducks walk through the facility, fish swim under you, enjoy fine dining and even bowl. To end the night I would ride to the top of the pyramid and look over the beautiful city of Memphis.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents deserve all the credit in the world for raising me to know who I am , never settle and be the best that I can possibly be. Growing up I had the qualities taught to me to be successful no matter what obstacles are thrown my way. My mother never quit when it came to pursuing her goal to be a dialysis nurse and now she is the head of her building and frequently travels to other states for her career. My father was determined to leave a legacy behind so he set out to become an entrepreneur and is very successful in his transportation business . Due to hard work and determination my parents are the prime example of distinguished parents who set the standard for their daughter. I love you and thank you !
