We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamiela Branch and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jamiela, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take! Taking risks had lead me to valuable experiences and opportunities that I will forever be thankful for. It is often through stepping outside our comfort zone that we discover new possibilities and achieve personal and professional growth.

Since the start of my career I quickly realized the importance of iterating and adapting in the face of challenges.

A mantra I kept close was “Fail fast and fail often” as a reminder that to fail is only your First Attempt In Learning. It’s just the beginning of a valuable learning journey – an opportunity to grow, evolve and become better versions of ourselves.

I would advise readers to get in the habit of taking calculated risks and trying new things!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Creating art through makeup has been my profession for over five years and my passion for as long as I can remember. I remember being in the military and every evening no matter how exhausted I was, I would go home to work on my craft and showcase it on my social media account.

One of the many attributes that sets me apart is the dedication to personalized beauty, ensuring that each client feels uniquely themselves.

The journey here wasn’t always easy, filled with challenges that taught me resilience and the importance of continuous learning. I am most proud of turning obstacles into opportunities and evolving with each experience.

My brand is a story of growth, creativity, and the wonderful individuals who have trusted me. I want the world to know that, at the heart of my brand, it’s about celebrating individuality and making every face a canvas of confidence and beauty.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Certainly! For a week long visit in the Clarksville Nashville area I would first explore Clarksville, starting with a hearty breakfast at The Mailroom then head to the Beachaven Vineyards and Winery for a tour. Brunch at the ButterFLY Garden in Nashville, the days are mixed of nature adventures at Dunbar State Cave Park, the vibrancy of Downtown Nashville’s music scene, and the cultural richness of arts and music institutions such as the National Museum of African American Music and the First Art Museum.

The itinerary closes with relaxation in Clarksville at Serenity Sweat & Sculpting Studio, a taste of Granny’s Soul Food, and a farewell dinner at Marsh House in Nashville.

This condensed itinerary captures the essence of the region, offering a diverse blend of history, nature, music and culinary delights.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I will forever be grateful for the incredible support throughout the years on my Makeup Artist journey! I definitely want to give a big shoutout to my amazing clients who trust and inspire me everyday.
Also, immense thanks to my family and friends for their unwavering love and encouragement. You’ve all been an integral part of my success story and I could not be more thankful.
