Meet Ian Luque Sanchez | International student athlete and entrepreneur.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ian Luque Sanchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ian Luque, how do you define success?
For me, success is the level of satisfaction for the work done in achieving a goal. That is to say, when you have managed to achieve something that truly fills you with satisfaction it is because the process to achieve it has been a success, that achievement is valued at its maximum and you feel proud for all the effort and work put into it, this is the point of success.
What should our readers know about your business?
Certainly! As an international student, soccer player, and entrepreneur, my business journey has been a unique and exciting one. My venture is driven by my passion for both sports and business, creating a dynamic blend of two worlds. What sets my business apart is its multifaceted nature, combining my love for soccer with my entrepreneurial spirit. I am most proud of the diverse portfolio of businesses I’ve established. From sports-related ventures like training academies and merchandise lines to more traditional businesses in the tech and hospitality sectors, I’ve strived to create a image that reflects my varied interests and skills.
The path to where I am today was not easy. Being an international student, adapting to a new culture and environment presented its challenges. However, these challenges fueled my determination to succeed not only as a student and athlete but also as a businessperson. I overcame obstacles through resilience, hard work, and a willingness to learn from both successes and failures. My studies and my mentoring are the most important bases to who I am today and age. Be focus on learn from people with experience in order to apply new knowledge to my life and business made me grow up both as a professional and personally.
The lessons I’ve learned along the way are invaluable. One key takeaway is the importance of adaptability. Whether on the soccer field or in the business world, being flexible and open to change is crucial for success. Additionally, building a strong support network has been instrumental. Surrounding myself with mentors and advisors has provided me with valuable guidance and insights.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that I am not just an athlete or an entrepreneur; I am a combination of both, driven by a passion for excellence in all aspects of life. My story is a testament to the idea that with determination, hard work, and a diverse set of skills, one can navigate different paths successfully. I hope to inspire others to pursue their passions relentlessly, regardless of the challenges they may face.
In essence, my brand is a reflection of my journey—a journey marked by resilience, ambition, and a commitment to making a positive impact both on and off the field.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Absolutely! If my best friend were visiting Washington, DC, and I wanted to show them the best time ever, I would craft an itinerary that combines my love for sports, Spanish food, and a fascination with monuments and historical landmarks. Here’s a week-long plan: Day 1: Exploring the National Mall
Starting with a jog around the National Mall, enjoying the scenic views of iconic monuments. After that visit the Smithsonian museums, immersing ourselves in history and culture. And finally ending the day in Georgetown neighborhood enjoy the night lifestyle there and dinning in a typical sport American bar networking with local open people.
Day 2: Sports Day
Attending a live sports event, whether it’s a soccer match, basketball game, baseball or any other sporting event happening in the city enjoying the environment and all the amazing performances they use to do. Later we will go to explore sports memorabilia shops or visit the National Sports Gallery, or in if we are with enough energies go to a shopping mall and finish the day there dinning at any attractive restaurant.
Day 3: Spanish Culinary Adventure
Visist a tipical spanish restaurant and surround with a typical Spanish environment. I know so many people in the Spanish culture sector here in DC so we can meet them and enjoying the day also delight a good Spanish dancing performance.
Day 4: Monuments, Memorials and Architecture
Spend the day visiting the memorials and historical building, for example the Lincoln Memorial and Reflecting Pool, the U.S. Capitol etc. exploring the World War II Memorial and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Eating in the street as typical in this city and finally taking a nighttime monument tour for a different perspective.
Day 5: Outdoor Recreation
Head to Rock Creek Park or The Wharf looking for any recreation activity or interesting event. Later a picnic in the park or try kayaking on the Potomac River. And on the evening relaxing and networking at any good bar in the area.
Throughout the week, I would make sure to introduce my friend to the diverse and exciting people of DC, whether it’s through local meetups, sports events, or cultural activities. This itinerary combines the rich history of the city with my personal interests, creating a memorable and well-rounded experience for my best friend.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Those who deserve recognition and merit in my story are mainly my parents who have known how to help and guide me in complicated decisions to guide my life in the best possible way. In addition, they have taught me what I am like and how to get along with the new people I meet and be able to choose which influences are useful in my life or not. On the other hand, I would like to highlight the help and mentoring of the members of the ECUSA group, which is a group of Spanish scientists who work for North American entities. They have opened many doors for me to new experiences and meetings with people who can be useful to me in my future. Thanks to them I am able to be mentored by the best professionals in all types of areas where I live, Washington DC. I also want to highlight a book “The Gift of Influence” by Tommy Splauding with which I am learning a lot about how to influence the people around me and take the most advantage of each conversation to create a useful friendship.
