We had the good fortune of connecting with Hunter Dorton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hunter, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
We would have to say, our customers. They are truly what backs us up. When we hear positive feedback about how something they bought from us is changing their life or improving their overall wellbeing, it continues to fuel why we do what we do. We always want to provide our customers with the best quality products and care. Our hearts are in everything we do for our business and every conversation we have with our customers. Helping people is the focus our business, and our customers are the success of our brand.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When we look back at our first time setting up at a small health food store, to where we are now, we are filled with immense gratitude. We dreamed of this life and to think that we have finally made it, is surreal at times. The road to get where we are today has come with its highs and lows, but overall it’s never been harder than working a 9/5 for someone else. Our passions have transformed into our business. We are a do it yourself kind of family and we’ve done it all when it comes to our business. We strive for excellence in all that we do for our business and customers. We set ourselves apart by truly listening to our customers and trying to help them, even if that means to just hold space for them while they share their stories or struggles. Our goal is to make a difference in the lives of those around us and we feel that that is exactly what we are doing, and we feel very blessed to be able to do so.

We have learned along the way to be consistent for our customers. If we show up for them, then they will reciprocate that over and over again. We’ve also learned that passion sells. People love to hear a story and they love to hear why you are doing what you’re doing, and to be able to do it with a passion, and tell others about it, is truly rewarding for us.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If we had a best friend coming to visit us in Middle Tennessee, we could start off with a hike near the heart of Nashville at one of the Warner parks, afterwards, picking up some fresh produce from somewhere like the Produce Place, and making a meal of local goodies. The Nashville Farmers Market is a great spot to stop and shop. There they have the Gardens of Babylon and that is somewhere we love to go and walk around looking at all the gorgeous plants they have. Nashville has countless amazing places to eat; two of our favorites being AVO and Sunflower Cafe, so we would most definitely be stopping there. Taking our friend to the local farmers markets around town would also be something we would do. Our home farmers market, in Nolensville, is every Saturday all year round and there are other great markets, at different locations, all throughout the general middle Tennessee area. You could visit a market almost every day of the week and see tons of amazing artisans, craftsman, farmers, and makers of all kinds. There is something for everyone and farmers markets are a great way to display the local culture and to help support these local vendors and their passions. Visiting local attractions, farms, hiking trails, markets, and local venues is how we would spend our time with a friend coming to visit for a week,

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There is absolutely someone in our story that deserves some extra love, and for us it is John and Lynn Dorton. They are the mother and father of Hunter and have been vital to the success of our business. They have been there since day one and have always been there to give advice and lend expertise when needed. We appreciate everything they do and would love to dedicate this shoutout to them.
