Hi Heather, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting Flawlessly Fierce Makeup by Heather B was to enhance the natural beauty of women and empower them to embrace their most confident selves. When establishing my business, I adopted a minimalist mindset, focusing on the essence of simplicity—keeping things classic, timeless, and incorporating only what is essential. From the foundation and continuing today, my focus has been on techniques that enhance rather than mask my clients’ natural features.

I aim to show my clients that achieving a flawless makeup look does not always require full glam and an abundance of products. Simple techniques and multi-use products can be used to bring out their natural features, resulting in a flawless appearance. Whether it’s simply highlighting cheekbones, defining eyebrows, or accentuating the eyes, the goal is to draw attention to each client’s unique beauty.

I understand that beauty is subjective, and such I have always believed that makeup should be a tool for self-expression. Thus, I encourage my clients to explore different makeup styles and discover what makes them feel most confident and comfortable. While makeup can be a powerful tool, it is also essential to promote the beauty of simplicity. Encourage clients to embrace minimalism when desired, showcasing their natural beauty with subtle enhancements.

YouTube has played a pivotal role in my exploration of the makeup realm. As my interest in makeup blossomed, I stumbled upon the vibrant universe of YouTube and beauty blogging. Immersing myself in an array of makeup videos and tutorials presented by diverse beauty influencers became a regular pursuit. My motivation stemmed from a genuine desire to absorb as much knowledge as possible about makeup, drawn by the creative and expressive avenues it presented. The platform provided an invaluable resource where individuals openly shared their wealth of makeup expertise, significantly contributing to my learning, personal growth, and skill development.
