Hi Haylee, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Work-life balance is a crucial aspect of any business owner’s journey. The perception that success is solely a result of relentless hustle or a perfectly calibrated work-life balance is a common misconception in our entrepreneurial culture. In my experience, this balance evolves over time and goes through different phases.

During the early stages of launching a business or when making a significant shift in one’s operations, there’s no denying that extra time and effort are often required. This initial investment is essential for building the foundation and gaining momentum.

However, once you’ve put in the necessary work, established your brand, and generated momentum, you can transition into a more sustainable work-life balance that aligns with your personal preferences and the life you aspire to lead. This balance is highly individual, as it varies from one entrepreneur to another. Some may opt for minimal hours dedicated to their business, while others may prefer to maintain a structured 40-hour workweek. The key is to find the equilibrium that allows you to maintain business success without compromising your well-being and personal life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Chattanooga, Tennessee is a city with a lot to offer, and I have some favorite places I’d love to recommend to visitors. First, there’s the Tennessee Aquarium, where you can explore captivating marine life and exhibits. Then, we can check out the historic Chattanooga Choo Choo, which offers a taste of the city’s railroad history, along with shops, restaurants, and beautiful gardens.

For a coffee break, we’ll head to a local coffee shop like Mean Mug, Frothy Monkey, or Sleepy Head to experience the unique local coffee culture.

When it’s time to eat, I’d recommend ‘Hair of the Dog’ for a cozy pub experience with craft beers and great food or ‘Taco Mamacita’ for mouthwatering tacos and cocktails. Both are local gems.

Afterward, we can take a leisurely stroll around downtown Chattanooga, known for its charming streets, public art, and vibrant atmosphere. Or, if we’re in the mood for outdoor adventure, we can explore nearby state parks or mountain trails with beautiful views.

While my entrepreneurial journey has been influenced by numerous individuals, one person stands out as an indispensable source of support and inspiration – my husband. His unwavering belief in my abilities and his encouragement to pursue full-time entrepreneurship played a pivotal role in my decision to take the leap. At a juncture when I had doubts about my readiness, his faith in me provided the necessary catalyst to embrace entrepreneurship as a full-time endeavor. His support has been an invaluable cornerstone of my entrepreneurial success.
