Hi Halee, what do you attribute your success to?
I believe the most important factor behind my business and the success of my brand is my ability to choose joy. I work hard to find the joy in the hard situations and on the hard days. I also love to share my joy and brighten the day of those around me.

Social Media Marketing can be very frustrating for small business owners. Navigating the ever-changing platforms, algorithms, and audience’s short attention span takes the joy right out the creative process for most. I make it my mission to help bring back that creative joy despite these unpredictable variables.

The importance of finding joy in your work cannot be emphasized enough, as it has far-reaching implications for your well-being and productivity. The more passionate I am about my job, the more I find I want to invest time and effort into mastering my craft. This enthusiasm is contagious, and I find it inspires those I consult with and teach. I believe finding joy in your work not only benefits you but also radiates positive effects throughout your professional and personal journey.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Czech Yourself Marketing is a small business-focused digital marketing agency rooted in the belief that we should all be living our best lives. CYM specializes in helping small businesses, makers, and nonprofits navigate the complex world of social media marketing and incorporating social strategies into a wholistic Marketing Plan to reach their goals. Through innovative campaigns and tailored solutions, I empower my clients to connect with their target audience, boost brand awareness, and drive meaningful growth. I believe my focus on creativity, authenticity, and continued learning for my clients sets me apart from my talented, fellow Marketers and local agencies.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I feel every week Knoxville is introducing a new eatery or destination for a fun gathering!

My favorite brunch spots are Hollys Gourmet Market, The Farmacy, and Frothy Money. Both are local, women-owned businesses with delicious menus to satisfy almost any craving. My favorite lunch spots are SoKno Taco & Tomato Head and dinner spots are Kefi, Vida, & one of Knoxville’s newer establishments, Stir. And don’t forget a nightcap at the bar with the best service you could ever ask for, The Drawing Room (inside the luxury Tennessean Hotel). As an active family we spend much of our time boating on the surrounding lakes in East TN, hiking the local trails, or skating at the Maryville Roller Rink. Knoxville truly has something for everyone!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
When I left corporate America in Fall 2017 one of my first tasks in designing my business was finding a support system and a space for continued learning. My search was a quick one. I attended a Women in Entrepreneurship meeting at the Knoxville Entrepreneur Center after briefly hearing about it at another networking event.

I was deeply intimidated to walk into a room full of women entrepreneurs when I had only just begun my entrepreneur journey. However, I left feeling inspired, supported, and celebrated. It was so refreshing to see such a supportive group of women in business who held “collaboration over competition” high on their list of values. I had not always experienced this in my corporate career.

I agreed to take the volunteer role of Social Media Manager for the group quickly after my first meeting. The private Facebook group has grown from 500 local women in entrepreneurship to now over 3,000. The resources, connections, and knowledge shared within this group page never ceases to amaze me and inspires me daily.

Special shoutout to my entrepreneur support system Booth Andrews (Booth Andrews LLC), Catherine Porth (Let Her Speak), and Erika Biddix (Aught LLC). These women support so many in our community to make their dreams a reality! I am so proud to work alongside them and call them friends!
