We had the good fortune of connecting with Hailey Sparks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hailey, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I don’t think I would ever see myself happy in a desk job kind of setting. Doing hair is something that I’ve always been interested in. Actually all of the arts of the beauty industry have been interests of mine, nail design, glam makeup, and even special effects makeup are also things that fueled me to get into cosmetology!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am deeply committed to the alternative hairstyles and colors. I love saying yes to things you may get a no for somewhere else. Vivid colors are definitely not easy to do and that’s why many stylists refuse to do them. It typically includes lightening the hair, then toning, drying, then going in with the desired colors. These appointments normally take 3-8 hours depending on what has to be done. Thankfully I like spending a lot of time on one client and doing all the tedious steps , rather than pumping out clients like a machine in 30 min -2 hrs. I love what I do no matter how challenging it can be sometimes!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Restaurants- inskip grill and the shakery, elidios, Holly’s gourmet market, heybear cafe Venues/bars- the concourse, Bernadettes, pilot light

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
