We had the good fortune of connecting with Gena Heelz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gena, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Ever since I could remember I have always strive to be innovative, to build a brand that has authenticity. I have always wanted to exhibit a part of me that people could relate to in the most positive and enlightening way.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m proud to be creating a legacy that I am truly passionate about. No, it’s not easy and it’s still very challenging at times because of my particular field and brand. I have to appeal to the masses with content that is entertainment-worthy while maintaining a level of dignity and respect in a world that’s uncensored and unapologetic. So to have quality guests on my shows, I have to maintain my viewership/numbers appeasing enough to be in rooms that will allow me to gather my content.

The challenges and lessons I’ve learned and am still learning to allow myself grace. Building relationships in this industry takes time and work to be successful, Life In Entertainment has to connect with the people.

I want the world to know that theirs a story behind every great person you know, or admire. Life In Entertainment is that bridge that brings the people you admire or not to your fingertips by clicking on our website, www.lifeinentertainment.com, or tuning in to Bumpin 96.3 FM Memphis on Saturdays at 2 pm CST, and starting back up February 2024, watching Life In Entertainment on Comcast 17 every Saturday at 6 pm CST.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh wow, these are fun questions!

Ok, I would start day one with a tour of the city and there are many options for that tour like the bus tour or the Memphis Riverboat tour.

We’d have brunch at Curfew restaurant and then walk on Beale Street, so by Wet Willie’s for a drink or two. Head to People’s to shoot pool.

We’d go to David and Busters, ESCO Restaurant and Tapas, Penny’s Nitty Gritty, The Mahogany Memphis, Top Golf, Shelby Farms for canoeing and zip lining, bowling at Bass Pro, catch a concert or game at the FedEx Forum and Orpheum and Parties on the roof top.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
That is a great question, and I’ll start by giving recognition to all of the beautiful people who have believed in my vision enough to allow me to be in places that I wouldn’t have at the beginning of my career.

Starting with my support system:
My mother, my husband, The Neely Agency, Nubian Queen Management PR, The Podcast Center, Billionwayz Media Group, Distance Films, Cr8 Agency, RP Entertainment Agency, ISAIDIT Management, and My Celebrity Life.

And as I continue to grow, I’m still meeting and working with amazing people, so shout out to them as well.
