Meet Fawn Larson | Copywriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Fawn Larson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Fawn, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve always gravitated toward entrepreneurialism. I started my first business immediately after graduating from college and learned a lot of powerful lessons from that time in my life. Since my interests are quite widespread, I’ve had a range of entrepreneurial endeavors through the years, ranging from the food industry to the home improvement industry and, of course, the communications industry. My background in marketing and public relations really helped equip me with many of the necessary skills to build a business. Throughout all of my pursuits, I’ve handled all of the branding and copywriting, simply because it’s something I’ve always been passionate about. These days, I feel extremely lucky to get to work as a freelance copywriter and help other business owners bring their brand stories to life through language.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a freelance copywriter and work with businesses to craft messaging that will resonate with their audience. Writing has always been a passion of mine, whether it be songwriting, creative writing, or copywriting. I love getting to help others when they are stuck in a “word rut.” Many of the people I provide copywriting services for have been unable to move forward with their business because they could not put their message into words in a concise and compelling way. It brings me a lot of joy to listen to their stories and help them move forward with a powerful message.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Nashville certainly has no shortage of excitement! If I were in charge of planning a fun weekend with my best friend, I would kick it off with brunch at Phat Bites, a quirky local spot in my neighborhood. Then we’d do some rock climbing at Climb Nashville. After that, we’d spend the afternoon at the sandy beach at Hamilton Creek Recreation Area. For some pre-dinner drinks and music, we’d go to The 5 Spot. Then we’d get some delicious pizza at 5 Points Pizza for dinner. The next day, we’d grab breakfast at The Nashville Farmers Market, go on a hike at Percy Warner Park, have dinner at Otaku Ramen, see a movie at The Belcourt Theater, and then finish it off with ice cream at Jeni’s!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have such a wonderful network of support and inspiration, which I consider to be essential when starting a business or working for oneself. My husband listens to my endless crazy ideas and believes in me 110%. He, too, is a business owner and runs his own web development agency, so we get to ride that self-employed roller coaster together. I have some seriously inspirational close friends as well who are doing really cool creative things. They have always been extremely supportive of my endeavors, and I look up to them for their bravery and commitment to their pursuits.
