We had the good fortune of connecting with Erica Muller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
With everything in life, there are always ups and downs and bumps along the road but I think that contrast is what keeps pushing us all along. There are a lot of stories that we grow up with, that inevitably become our beliefs, both good and bad. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that you can rewrite a belief at any time in your life if you decide it’s not serving you. But in order to do that you have to get really curious and aware of what is going on in your life. I wanted to be an actor since I was really young — TV shows really spoke to me and I always felt like I was meant to be in that world. I think a lot of getting where you want to go is truly about making a decision within yourself that you will get there and not entertaining doubts.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
LA is so engrained in me I could definitely give anyone a trip to remember. I’m not a huge tourist trap person but there are some things if you’ve never been to LA you just have to experience like walking the Venice Boardwalk and going up and down Abbot Kinney, the Hollywood Sign, Rodeo Drive, Malibu beach for a beach trip, the Santa Monica Pier. I love Gracias Madre to eat at, Sage is really good for breakfast and so is Croft Alley, Happy Days for churros, Alfred Tea is so good and you have the get the rose tea boba (except I don’t like the boba so I get it without). Hanks Bagels is one of my all time favorite places, they have a couple locations. EarthBar for smoothies, and Erewhon is a must. There are a lot of great museums in LA, and if you’re there on a weekend you have to go to Smorgusburg in downtown and get an arepa and the donuts from Donut Friend are amazing. There are a lot of great hikes in LA, a lot you can see the ocean from. If I keep going this list will never end.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I think everything and everyone in our lives play a part in leading us along in life whether they’re aware of it or not. Some people and things play bigger roles than others, but in the spirit of this shoutout, it definitely has to go to my family. They have been with me throughout every up and down and I know they will continue to be. I’m actually not sure there will ever be a way to give them the proper shoutout they truly deserve — they deserve a lot of credit.
