Meet Emilie S. Burke aka ‘Dixie’ | Southern Hospitality Mobile Bartending Service Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Emilie S. Burke aka ‘Dixie’ and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Emilie S., what is the most important factor behind your success?
The care of people. It’s the old cliche, but customer service – and a bit beyond. Southern hospitality.
We are hungry for kindness, care and assistance in these times. And it’s something that has gone by the wayside. Good old-fashioned customer care.
Clients know when you care. You can’t fake that.
I love to make people feel warm and welcome – to be part of their historic event. It’s uplifting ,and oh so rewarding!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m always a bit surprised, that I own a mobile bartending service. I never thought that I would be doing this. The funny thing is – I never stopped doing it, all through the years. I always kept up with my bartending on the side,
When it came time to take the plunge, I questioned myself: what is something you’ve always done, you’re good at, and that you enjoy? Could you do this for a living? Could you build this into a career? I had complete faith in myself, and I knew that I could.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
As both a bartender, and former vocalist, I’ve had a hand in every kind of event you can imagine. I finally decided I was going to put all my years of event and bartending experience to work, when I started ‘Dixie Em’s.’
First and foremost, my parents instilled in me my love of sales, and with that, the ability to connect. Funny little story – my mother taught me how to make those little pot-holders. You know, the ones everyone used to have in their kitchens, haha? I was so young, maybe about 5 or 6 years old. She was with me at first, but she made me go door-to-door, selling those things. That was my very first lesson. The seed had been planted. My Dad had a different approach, but he sorta covered what my Mama didn’t.
