We had the good fortune of connecting with Dericka Tillman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dericka, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I like to say I pursued this career, but in many ways, it feels like it pursued me. This career allows me to combine my passion for helping others with a craft rooted in natural, God-given ingredients. It’s fulfilling to create something meaningful that empowers people in their self-care journeys, letting me serve and uplift others while staying true to myself.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets Flawless&Brwn apart is the intentionality behind the brand. It’s more than just skincare products; it’s an experience, a lifestyle! We truly care about providing tools to support our customers on their emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual journeys. Our products are about more than looking good—they’re about feeling good! We’ve created a brand that promotes love and self-care, essentials to incorporate into your daily routine. Flawless&Brwn is a key ingredient in elevating your lifestyle—an intentional choice to nurture and care for yourself.

One thing I’m most proud of is the relationships and partnerships we’ve built this year. I’ve partnered with multiple local businesses and even expanded our services to include white label production. My brand and reach are growing. I’m living my dream in real time, and it’s incredibly exciting.

Professionally, I’m here today because of my desire to grow. The courses, classes, and research I’ve invested in have allowed me to enter spaces that propel me to the next level. But there’s no specific formula that got me “here”—it’s been a combination of hard work, faith, and favor. Was it easy? No, but I find joy in what I do, so I appreciate every challenge. My goal is to stay as present as possible so that I can enjoy each moment, apply the lessons I’ve learned along the way, and share them with others.

I overcome obstacles by doing the work! I do what I can so God can do what I can’t. I practice self-reflection and seek feedback to improve my skillset. The key lesson I’ve learned is that you can’t do it alone. People play a major role in fulfilling your purpose, so I stay grounded, humble, keep my faith, and surround myself with like-minded individuals who encourage me on this journey.

What I want the world to know about Flawless&Brwn is that we’re here to help you heal. Sometimes the healing is external, sometimes it’s internal. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I have to give honor to God. I wouldn’t be who I am today without His love, grace, and mercy. Next, I have to recognize my husband for his love, dedication, and unwavering support. The way he shows up for me and our children is remarkable—I couldn’t have asked God for a better partner. Shout out to my kids for being my biggest motivation and inspiration. I also want to thank my mom and brother—you two were my very first supporters and believed in me before I even knew how to believe in myself. Thank you! And of course, to the rest of my beautiful family and my amazing friends—your support means everything to me. I’m so grateful for you all! I love y’all!
