Hi Danette, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As a serial Entrepreneur, I have explored multiple arenas to ensure authenticity, quality, and extraordinary service to my clients. Starting my own businesses have given me the flexibility, freedom, and accessibility that I’ve always desired while helping people in various capacities. As a mother and wife, an excellent work-life balance is super important and essential to me and my family.
I started multiple businesses because I see that that there is a nationwide need for the services I now offer with the skills and expertise I possess. I am a National Certified Life, Business, & Career Coach, International Motivational Speaker, National Wedding Officiant & Ordained Minister, Dual State Mobile Notary Public (KY/TN), CEO of Little London Photography, CEO of Voiced Thoughts Talk Show and Podcast, Founder and CEO of Mother Daughter Relationship Foundation (M.D.R.), CEO of Zumba Nashville, TN & Paducah, KY (offering Zumba, Yoga, and Mindfulness classes), and Published Author of a book titled ” Leave Alive.”
I am your one stop shop, Jane of all trades, and your serial Octopus. My clients are able to access numerous services in one place with someone they’ve built a relationship with and who has earned their trust. My goal has always been to positively change and impact the lives of others while fulfilling my true purpose.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
In addition to all I do and the services I offer, my husband and I own a Soup, Salad, and Sandwich Restaurant called Loopy Larry’s. Loopy Larry’s is located in Paducah, KY and is a quick service restaurant that serves gourmet sandwiches, unique salads, and specialty soups such as the Pepperoni Pizza Soup, Cheeseburger Soup, and Buffalo Chicken Wing Soup, just to name a few. I already know that your tastebuds are exploratory. You must try it to not miss out on this one of a kind eatery experience, especially if you are food lovers like us.
We only have the one hub location at the moment but the intent is to start expanding by the beginning of 2024. We are exploring a few different options which include but is not limited to: a food truck addition for mobile locations & events, a second location within the Paducah, KY, Murray, KY, Mayfield, KY, Metropolis, IL, or Clarksville, TN vicinity, and a selective Franchising opportunity.
After being in business for 4 years, Loopy Larry’s has established a unique presence and a household name brand in the community, and is known as the locals most favorite one stop shop for the freshest salads, assorted gourmet soup selections, and scrumptious, mouthwatering subs and sandwiches. Travelers always stop by because of our raving 5 stars reviews on Google and Facebook. With 4.4K followers on Facebook, we ensure that we also contribute and serve in our community. Most recently, Loopy Larry’s was a sponsor for the Annual Suicide Prevention Awareness Walk organized by the American Suicide Prevention Foundation. We believe in serving the community and giving back.
In addition to the above mentioned exclusivity, another thing that sets us apart from others is the fact that Loopy Larry’s is owned and operated by a Korean husband Matthew Turner and his Jamaican wife Danette Mahabeer-Turner, who are both considered minorities in various aspects. The success rate of our proof of concept was originally initiated by Matthew’s best friend and prior business partner James Tyler, who passed away in March 2023. James Tyler is the extraordinary visionary behind Loopy Larry’s and it’s successful proof of concept.
James has created a legacy for not just Matthew, but for his wife, children, and extended family. This legacy must live on and we strongly believe in it and it’s continuous and future success. Our success story is different and unique. Loopy Larry’s survived the Covid Pandemic and has since proven a 30% annual increase in sales thereafter. We are known to cater for private events and large office lunch orders across the city.
We strongly believe that Loopy Larry’s will be in every big city, with multiple independent Franchise locations and become a reputable national brand. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Nashville, TN is always home in my heart no matter where I go. Nashville is the most scenic and diversed city anyone could even imagine visiting. Having lived here for the past 7 years, everyday feels like a vacation. From the most exotic restaurants to the most scenic places such as Percy Priest Lake, Nashville is filled with various fun activities for adults and families with kids.
Some of my favorite restaurants are Frank Sinatra Lounge, Bricktops, Redlands by J. Alexander, just to name a few. I enjoy attending concerts and music events such as CMA’s. I love kayaking down the Cumberland River during sunset. An early morning horse back riding adventure in the country is the most thrilling and breathtaking experience anyone could ever ask for. I enjoy walking the pedestrian bridge downtown especially during sunset. After which, a little walk downtown Nashville on Broadway will give you the musical vibe of hearing different genres and loud music while strolling the busy side walks.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Firstly, I have to give thanks to my Heavenly Father for giving me the wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and strength to persevere and serve others the way I do. Secondly, I must thank my amazing mother Melaney for being such a rock and bridge for me. She is my number one cheerleader and supporter. She always mentors and encourages me on my journey to success. Lastly, my amazing daughter Soheila London and my amazing Husband Matthew Turner have both been so gracious to me and supportive. They are my favorite consultants and advisors and I do what I do because of them and for them.
