Meet Corey Miranne | Artist & Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Corey Miranne and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Corey, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Telling stories is something I’ve done since I was a kid. I grew up being largely involved in the Theatre scene in Nashville and eventually transitioned to working in the Music industry. That being said, it was second nature to tell stories that made people feel related to and heard. I chose a career in Music simply because of what it had already done for me. Like many people, I have a song for just about every mood, moment, and season of life. My goal with music always has been to share my experiences with the world in the hopes that they might resonate with someone else. If even one of my songs makes a listener feel more themselves or realize that we are all more the same than different, that would be enough to validate every creative pursuit I’ve had thus far.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am in the processes of finalizing the release of my newest 4 song EP, Meet Me In The Middle. I have been releasing each song as a single and it is by far my favorite project I have ever worked on. It was the largest collaborated effort with over 15 co-writes that narrowed down to the 4 songs featured. Although these songs specifically go through the common stories of falling out of love, I believe, ironically, what sets them apart is just how common many of them are. As I was co-writing with talented songwriters all across Nashville, I would share my experiences of what I was hoping to write about. However, 9 times out of 10, I found that what I saw as my most personal and isolating experiences were actually my most relatable. This caused my original idea of a “break-up album” to morph from my common stories people throughout our community who have dealt with loss. I couldn’t be more grateful for what it became because it allowed us to speak out the same message I’ve been trying to get across from the start: we are all more the same than different.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As a Nashville native, I like to think I know a good bit of the hotspots. However, Nashville has over tripled in size since I was a kid bringing new and exciting places still opening daily. That being said, you’d be remiss if you visited Nashville without experiencing a late night trip to Dino’s. It’s Nashville’s best and worst kept secret. You enter to what seems like the most dive-bar experience you can find paired with the perfect late night menu, drink deals, and maybe even a few famous familiar faces. I am a big outdoors person so I can’t mention Nashville without mentioning Percy Warner. It’s a huge park just south of Nashville with miles and miles of beautiful walking trails. It is particularly beautiful during the spring and fall. Lastly, the best place to grab a drink in Nashville, hands down, is Attaboy in East. Expect a wait as there isn’t a lot of seating but I promise it will be worth it. There’s a great calm ambiance paired with the most talented bartenders the city has to offer!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d love to give a shoutout to my closest group of friends. They’re some of the most creative, supportive, and genuine people Nashville has to offer! To name a few, Ben Van Maarth, Nick Fair, Thomas Ventura, Brooks Barry, Ryan Wilson, Connor Weaver, and several others. All are artists or musicians in their own right and dedicate every piece of themselves to their respective craft. The life of a creative is not always an easy one and having a community of friends to walk that beside you is invaluable.
