Meet Claudia Rodriguez | President and Founder of SUAVE MGMT

We had the good fortune of connecting with Claudia Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Claudia, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
I want to figure that out sooner rather than later. When I first started my business, I didn’t have much business going on, so it was easier to establish a work life balance. At that time, I worked from 9 to 5 on my management business, and before and after those times, I would have time to myself to work out, to supplement my income, etc. Now I’m really busy and I have a ton of clients, so I feel like I have to always be on and that I cannot set boundaries. Luckily, I know that that is not true, so I am actively trying to figure out how to create boundaries that allow me to have both a healthy professional and personal life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve spent a lot of time, especially recently, thinking about what sets my company apart. At first, SUAVE was just me representing creators that I found interesting/creators that created content that I liked. Now, I understand in order for my business to be highly successful, I need to have a competitive advantage. To me. that competitive advantage is in my company being small and maintaining personal relationships with our creators. Additionally, we only represent certain types of creators. We will not represent any creator outside of the delineated niches that we have established.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh my gosh; well first of all, let me just say I love Miami so much. So if my best friend is visiting me, we’re gonna start the day with a walk to the water and some coffee to watch the sunrise. Then, we are going to go do a yoga class at YOBK, which is my favorite yoga studio of all time. Then will come back to my home and get ready. We will rent some citi bikes and bike to Miami Beach. we will bike up to Sazon in the North Shore area. Sazon has the best Cuban food in Miami, so we are definitely going to order a Cuban sandwich, sweet plantains, fried yuca and then for dessert, we will have a cafécito and flan. After we eat, we will go to the beach, sun tan, and chill. Then once we’re done, we will ride bikes back (during the sunset) and have a chill night watching a movie or whatever back at my place.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would say the Tony Robbins self-help tape that I listenED to in January 2021 was the most watershed resource in my success, just because it’s what got me started. I definitely wasn’t ready to get started at that time, but no one really is ever ready for anything it seems. So I am grateful that that tape made me take the leap and start my own business.
