We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher “Bigg” Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christopher “Bigg”, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process on starting this business initially were due to not having a voice in this space and believing that what I brought to the table was great and even better than what I was seeing and hearing at the time. It came from not having a voice or seat at the table.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I want the world to know that it hasn’t always been easy for me and there have been a lot of challenging days, but one thing I have learned in life, is that tough times don’t last but tough people do. I can’t say what sets me apart from others because I’ve never really thought about that, I let the people say what sets me apart, it’s their opinion that matters when it comes to that aspect of what I do. I try to focus on being the best version of me and let my work do the talking for me. My art has become somewhat like therapy for me now that I think about it. No matter what may be going on in my personal life, I can always count on doing what I love and doing it at a high level. I’m excited about the future and what my business can grow to become.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Great question! Well, I’d say we would have to checkout 312 Pizza on Monroe Ave and you have to try the mozzarella sticks and their pizza is exceptional! The best Chicago style pizza in Nashville. Going out for drinks? For my money and time I’d be going to Willie B’s or Minerva for brunch. Centennial Park would be a great place for someone that is interested in getting a great view of the city and some fresh air, oh and cannot forget about Percy Priest in Antioch.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This shoutout goes to my mother! Not only did she birth me, but if not for her, I would not have started this business. She was the first person to encourage me start blogging after I graduated college, and when she passed away in 2012, I started recording my podcast in 2013, and here I am today. So yeah, this shoutout is for my mom.
