Meet Christina Tripp | Content Creator & Singer Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Christina Tripp and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christina, how does your business help the community?
Over the past few months on Instagram, I’ve been able to build up a community of songwriters, artists, and creatives who love to learn more about songwriting. It’s been so fulfilling to guide them in songwriting exercises, prompts, and provide them with workbooks and tools I’ve created. I love to encourage others in their pursuit of their passions. It feels incredible to be able to inspire others and in return, be inspired by them!
I launched my first songwriting workbook, “The Vocab Vault” in November of 2022. Its purpose is to help songwriters overcome writers block and exercise their creative muscles so they can become stronger writers. I wanted to create something that was fun, easy, and practical to use. After creating the product, using it myself, and seeing the song ideas it sparked in me – I knew I wanted to share it with the world.
Not only have I been able to connect with many other creatives through sharing my product, but I’ve also been able to give them feedback on their songs through my Instagram Live Song Show N Tell. I’ve been doing these for a couple of months now and it’s been awesome to see how valuable they are to everyone who joins. Creatives send in their music along with a lyric sheet, and I share their song, my reaction, and feedback with the rest of the audience. Everyone is inspired by listening to new music, meeting new people, and learning from the process.
I’m so excited for 2024 and all that it will bring!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a pop/rnb/hip-hop singer songwriter. I also specialize in teaching songwriting on social media, creating content, and encouraging creatives to live their happiest, healthiest lives. I am most proud of the resilience, persistence, and confidence I’ve built over the years.
The mental battles have been some of the toughest for me. I’m proud of the work I’ve done in general. What sets me apart from others is maybe my affinity for learning. I enjoy challenging myself and others in the way we write and how we write. There are always new things you can learn about music and how to create it. I’ve also always had a side hustle and am very entrepreneurial at heart.
I actually made a list of 10 lessons I learned about being a songwriter in 2023…but one of the biggest lessons I learned was how important it is to just put yourself out there. Give as much value as you can to others. Clap the loudest for yourself. Think about what you really enjoy doing with your time, and do that.
My brand is based around positivity, encouragement, and living a healthy creative life. I think if there’s anything I’d like the world to know about me or my brand…it’s that it is so important to lift each other up, keep creating, and keep learning about what you love! Everyone is welcome and safe to express their ideas in my community. Art inspires art and we all need each others inspiration. We grow together when share what we learn, love, and create.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh my goodness there’s so many places that I love..but the ones that come to mind right now? For food and drink, Nectar Urban Cantina, Taj Indian Restaurant, Tennfold Brewing, Barcelona Wine Bar. I love going to Two Rivers park, Love Circle, Opryland Hotel is fun to just walk about.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My biggest credit goes out to God, I wouldn’t be here without Him and He has blessed me with more than I deserve. My family and church have also been a huge support.
My best friend since freshman year of high school- Coleman Sutton has been with me through this journey from start to finish. We both went to UTC and came back to Nashville at the same time to start a music career and it’s such a beautiful thing to watch us grow together. He has always had my back, believed in me, has been a shoulder to cry on, and has pushed me when I needed it. I couldn’t ask for a better best friend. At times when I had nothing, I had him. I wouldn’t be where I am without him.
Another couple of my best friends to mention would be Khiana Noel, Alexandria Corn, Chelsea Smith, Hershey Patel, and Danny Polo. They have all encouraged me, stuck with me over the years, and embody what it means to be a ride-or-die true friend. Every one of them inspires me, is incredibly talented, and makes my life better. They are dependable, loyal, and supportive of me.
