We had the good fortune of connecting with Chrissy Amundson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chrissy, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind the success of Realty ONE Group Music City in Middle Tennessee and my success with them is valuing the people we help and leading with hearts of service. For me, as the Director of Development, it’s essential that myself and our leadership truly value our team of professionals and support them in their entrepreneurial journeys. What our agents do everyday to help people make their real estate dreams reality is truly life-changing for their clients. They are allowing people to create home or achieve financial success, and what makes us different is that we understand the heart behind the sale. Compassionate, knowledgeable, and professional support for our agents allows them to provide that same compassion and skill to their clients and together we’re unstoppable.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started in the real estate industry young, at just barely eighteen years old, in a challenging Las Vegas market. I was enthralled by the fast-paced industry with new challenges to overcome each day. Over the last 15 years I have worked in foreclosure management, property management, transaction coordination, marketing, coaching, management, administration, and developed myself into a successful listing specialist and buyer’s advocate. I am proud of the commitment I’ve made to truly dive into the different aspects of the industry and become the most knowledgeable I can be. When living in popular vacation destination, Key West, near the Naval Air Station, I became a Resort and Second-Home Property Specialist and certified Military Relocation Professional. I’ve relocated many times over the years, obtaining my real estate license in Nevada, Minnesota, Florida, and Tennessee, and I’ve developed business and teams across these states that allow me to continue to help people in all of the places I’ve called home. The challenge is to stay committed and adjust to the market changes – from the market downturn in 2008 to the post-pandemic upturn – and everything in between. The only way to find success long-term is to continue to commit, learn, pivot, and grow, and I can say I’ve been able to do that successfully with the right guidance, mentorship, and partners. Now, as the Director of Development for Realty ONE Group Music City, I share my experience and knowledge to help other professionals find their success, and it’s the most fulfilling chapter of my story so far. From my story, I want people to know that there is nothing impossible – it’s not a matter of IF, just a matter of HOW.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Music City and Middle Tennessee are truly abundant with memory-making experiences, and one of my favorite places I’ve experienced in my extensive travels. There’s nowhere quite like it. If I was going to show a friend the best week-long trip, I’d make sure they experience a night on the town with the iconic Broadway for live country music and dancing, and the historic Printer’s Alley for some unique eats – two of the most vibrant and lively experiences to embrace in Music City. A daytime mural tour is a must because there is tremendous art throughout the city. Middle Tennessee is so much more than just a popular Downtown though, so we would also take a country drive through Leiper’s Fork for lunch at Puckett’s Grocery and antiquing, then take on a local tasting through the Leiper’s Fork Distillery. You can’t forget the famous Franklin Main Street for some shopping, historic home-viewing, dinner at Gray’s on Main, and a coffee at Frothy Monkey. The nature of Middle Tennessee is awe-inducing as well so we’d have to make time for Radnor Lake State Park, Percy Warner Park, and the waterfalls at Harpeth River State Park. The list could go on, and you might find yourself staying much more than a week to truly experience it all.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We could not talk about my growth journey in the Tennessee real estate industry without a thank you and recognition for our visionary founders, Monte and Connie Mohr. Their mentorship and encouragement for me and our team of professionals has allowed us to grow into the most confident and successful versions of ourselves. Leading by example with love makes all the difference. I also have to give endless credit and thanks to my husband, Quentin, and my family, because in an industry that is challenging and ever-changing, the support of loved ones can mean the world – and I’ve been very lucky to be filled with encouragement by these amazing people.
