Meet Chris Love | Record producer, mixing engineer.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Love and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
The most important thing I’ve done, I believe, is homeschooling them. The world is a scary place. They’re going to grow up and learn all about it eventually. I’m just focused on keeping them healthy and happy while they’re kids, so they can enjoy being kids. They’re not sheltered by any means. They get out and have friends, extra curricular and social events in which they are involved. We go on vacations when we want, we get school done on our own time and pace.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’ve been told, that I’m inside the artists head. It’s my job to figure out what the artist wants, what their vision is, pertaining to their song/album. My intuition to go with my gut is how I make my first move. That will be the easiest, and generally the way that naturally suits the song. It’s not 100%, but it’s very close. I’m not focused on making it a hit, or making it like whatever the hot, trendy thing is at the moment. The most important part to me is the authenticity of the art. That’s not to say that’s how it always was. There’s a learning curve of how to navigate the artist relationship, in which you have to guide them without them losing trust in you. This took me years.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a foodie, so we’re hitting up my favorite spots. Edley’s BBQ, The Pharmacy, Five Daughters Bakery. My kids have celiac disease so we make sure we do all the gluten free options we can get safely as well/ Sunflower Bakehouse, East Nashville Beerworks, Thai Orchid and Tipsy Thai.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
A large portion of my success can be attributed to the friendship of MT Champion. For years now he’s been there for me and helped me tremendously along the way. He helped me become the recording engineer I am today, and I’ll be forever thankful.
