We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Ewing and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, what inspires you?
I’m inspired by BOOKS! I am a huge reader, from fiction about fantasy worlds to non-fiction about linguistics and anything in between! I find all kinds of creative inspiration in books, not to mention it’s my favorite way to totally unplug after a long day of creating.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The I&G Family is passionate about empowering home-grown and dreamer-owned businesses because that’s us too! For us, it all started with little ol’ me & my computer! In 2019, I stumbled into my passion for design. A self-taught hobby soon because my full time job as I fell in love with crafting brands & websites for the businesses of my local community. While I certainly faced challenges, I was beyond grateful to have the incredible support of my partner, Connor, as well as some really inspiring and understanding clients.

Since those early years, Ivory & Green has expanded at a mind-blowing pace. What started out as a solo operation, has grown to a full service Creative House with a team of incredible designers, marketing pros, artists, photographers, & copywriters. We have been thrilled to work with creative businesses all over the country, helping them stand out in their industries & connect with more of the clients they love. What sets us apart is our ability to truly connect with our client’s visions. We build stylish & strategic brands that embody their stories & clearly display the excellence of their business.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I LOVE Nashville! We only moved into the city this year, but we have immediately fallen in love. My favorite spots are generally on the quieter side, like the coffee shops (Retrograde and Elegy are our most frequented), Bookshops (Novelette and the Bookshop), and little dive bars (Rosemary and Beauty Queen, of course).

When out of town friends visit, one of my go-to spot to take them is Urban Cowboy! It’s an amazing old Victorian home with a wine parlor, amazing pizza (try the bee sting!), live jazz music, and lit fireplaces in the winter. When I step inside, I never want to leave!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Ivory & Green Creative House would literally not exist if it wasn’t for the support of my partner, Connor. He believed in me, encouraged me, and supported me when I quit my traditional job to start my own brand and website design business. Since 2020, Ivory & Green has grown and changed significantly, but Connor has been a constant and vital source of support.
