We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Adkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I am inspired by a combination of freedom and creativity.

Freedom represents the ability to explore new opportunities, whether that’s in the outdoors, in business, or in personal growth. For me, it’s about the freedom to step outside the conventional boundaries, to take risks, and to create something meaningful.

Creativity is a powerful force that drives innovation. In an industry where new ideas and solutions are needed to stand out and make a positive impact, creativity becomes essential. Whether it’s developing new seasonings, or cooking fresh food from my hunting and fishing trips, creativity allows me to add my personal touch to every meal.

What should our readers know about your business?
Brotherz Outdoorz was founded in 2021, initially starting with hunting and fishing videos on YouTube and TikTok. I shared tips and outdoor experiences, and I also shared all of my adventures. Soon I realized that I could make really good seasonings to enhance all meals and snacks. As demand is continuing to grow, I am expanding into selling hams and barbecue products, creating a full-service brand focused on championsip quality flavor and outdoor adventure.

What sets us apart is our commitment to quality and connecting people to the outdoors. Our seasonings are designed to elevate the flavors of all foods including fresh catches and wild game, while our barbecue items bring people together around great food.

The journey hasn’t been easy. From balancing creativity with business growth to learning how to scale and manage inventory, I’ve faced many challenges. But perseverance and feedback from customers helped me adapt and improve. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is the importance of listening to your audience and staying true to what makes your brand special.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting, I’d start by taking them to Cozy Corner BBQ, a true Memphis staple that serves some of the best barbecue outside of my own. It’s a cornerstone in the community, known for its ribs and chicken. Then, another day we’d head over to Ms. Girlee’s for an authentic soul food experience, where we could enjoy dishes like fried catfish, oxtails, collard greens, and cornbread, all made with love. We’d definitely catch a Grizzlies or Tigers game, as the energy and excitement of the crowd make for an unforgettable experience. Of course, no trip to Memphis would be complete without a visit to Beale Street, where we’d soak in the live music. It’s all about good food, great sports, and the lively spirit of Memphis!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I’d like to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I would also like to thank my family and close friends for their continuous support. I would like to shout out my wife, K’Bren Adkins for her love and support and being my number one supporter. She helps me cook, and she hunts and fishes with me. I couldn’t ask for a better and more supportive wife.

My parents, Bill & Linda Adkins have always been there, whether it was hunting or fishing, helping me experiment with new seasoning blends, providing feedback on recipes, or simply encouraging me to keep pushing forward when things got tough. Thank you, Mom & Dad.
