Meet Chase Morgan | Country Artist/Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chase Morgan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chase, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
I know that I need to keep going simply because that is the one consistent characteristic in everyone who has ever made their dreams a reality. The one common denominator in all of the people I aspire to be like, is that “no quit” attitude. Furthermore, I know that music, for me, is that one pursuit that is absolutely worth giving my everything to – as I would still be doing it everyday whether anyone wanted to listen or not. I play and write and perform for me first, and it’s a sweet cherry-on-top bonus that am able to make a career out of others enjoying it too.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a country musician, it can be a challenge in itself just to stand out amongst the hundreds of other dreamers who are trying to do the same. I have found that what sets me apart from others is my love for what I do. My love for music extends far beyond playing, performing and even listening. Music heals me – and the audience can feel that too. When I take the stage, I bring the audience with me. Just by sitting attentively, they are part of the show. There’s an inexplicable connection between myself, the spectators, and the music. Pursuing a career in the arts and being a creative is no easy feat; however, if it is the life that’s truly been chosen for you, it will never feel like work. It’s the hardest thing that I have ever tried to do, and I have loved – for better or for worse – every part of it.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, as a musician, we don’t get a whole lot of down time, or even much time at home in between shows, but I do love to stop in and watch a Pred’s game when I can. I have, and always will be, a huge hockey fan. Being in music city though, if my best friend was in town visiting for the first time, we would absolutely have to make stops ate the Ryman and/or the Opry to catch a show, visit the Country Music HOF, and one of my personal favorites, the Johnny Cash museum. In between tours and shows, we’d definitely have to stop in at some of the spots on Broadway, especially if we have some friends playing shows down the strip. There really isn’t a wrong answer, at least that I know of, come to think of it. It’s a city busting with opportunity.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family, especially my partner Brettyn, are a huge part of why I’ve been able to build and grow a successful music career. Over the past summer, I became ill due to some complications with autoimmune diseases that I have entered a life-long battle with. When I was weak and/or hospitalized, my family, led by Brettyn’s efforts, stepped up and helped to support me with whatever I needed. It’s in those weakest moments that you are able to really see the love that others have for you, and I feel very fortunate to have a phenomenal team of supporters behind me.
