We had the good fortune of connecting with Charity Baroni Litzenberg and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Charity, what’s the end goal, career-wise?

I have thankfully accomplished so many things that I dreamt of doing as a dancer (I say that knowing how blessed I am to say that) I will always love growing and learning in dance. I am loving the work I’m getting to do as a choreographer and a performance coach. My main goal is helping others get closer to achieving their dreams and feeling confident, seen and known in the process.

My big goal for the next step is focusing more on my acting career and also pursuing an even deeper knowledge of mental health and psychology. The common denominator of all of my career goals is that no matter the vocation, my desire is to be the truest most authentic human and leave others better for their experience of and with me. So my end goal for my career is creating as many life changing, positive experiences of connection, authenticity, and true art with anyone I come into contact with professionally. I hope to do this for my entire life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

I am one person who was blessed enough to be born into my particular family, my city of opportunity, this era and also born with a passion of art. I was thankfully able to progress and work hard to build my craft and passion into a profession! I have taken my professional entertainment industry experiences into helping other dreamers.

Every time I trained as a dancer was another hour towards being ready for my career when I got the call. I loved dance from a young age and I kept the passion for it throughout my career, and when I was burnt out, I took a step away. (Contrary to what I was told to do.) I didn’t even start taking dance at a studio with real dance floors until I was 17! If you feel like you’re late in your game, YOU AREN’T! I moved to LA with $114, got in a wreck that totaled my car within the first month living there, took the bus 2 hours to every class I took. I lived off oatmeal for months because that’s all that I could afford. But I never gave up. I HAD to dance. I auditioned, I trained, and I was told no a thousand times. I was told to lose weight even when I was already on the job. Once on big jobs I still dealt with hardships of loneliness and depression and anxiety. There is a reality to everything, even the dreams. I have not been picked for big choreography jobs and I have been picked. I have not been called back to work with some big artists that I was performance coaching and I have consistent clients. All of this to say, no it wasn’t easy and isn’t easy but it is always worth it, Ive gotten to do some of the coolest jobs! I have also been lied about, manipulated, black listed, the list goes on about the realities. At the end of the day I know my truth and I know I am authentic and I genuinely care about people to the point of maybe missing out on big jobs because I do not compromise who I am. If you feel like the world is against you, find the worlds that aren’t. If the dream is big enough and you are excellent, odds are you’re probably going to be challenged a lot and some people won’t understand you. I am also grateful to say that along with my dance career, some acting doors were opened and I am encouraged to know that you don’t ever have to have only one dream or only one passion. My dance career taught me a lot about being an authentic performer and I truly believe this has paid off tremendously in acting as well. I am currently pursuing commercial acting and I’m thankful that I had some wonderful acting experiences when I lived in LA as well

My brand is about authenticity, self empowerment and love, connection, and fulfillment in bigger ways than just professionally achieving a goal or a dream! Whether I’m teaching, dancing, acting, performance coaching, choreographing or counseling, these are truths and my main focus! I believe that is one thing that sets me apart. I have eternal perspective, not quick fix satisfactory mentality.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Nashville is incredible. This city has grown immensely in the last several years. The culture is thankfully growing, the food scene is impeccable and there are lots of fun places to go. I have my own personal faves and they are always my recommendations!

FIRST OFF- if you are looking for a really fun and unique experience, check out Neon Cowgirls! My great friend and founder Chi Lopes and I personalize a very fun dance experience just for you and your friends/coworkers/bachelorettes! Choose your favorite style: Country, Hip Hop or Pop. We will do the rest: teach you an easy-to-learn routine in a class format at your air bnb, our host studio, or your corporate event. We can even teach you some TikTok style dances and film them for you to post! This is truly one of my favorite things to do ever.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

I would love to give a shout out to my Uncle Nolan. If it weren’t for his passion for dance, I don’t think I would have fallen in love with it the way that I did in the beginning. He helped youth around the world and one way he did this was through the art and expression of dance. He showed me from the jump that dance was bigger than just performing, it was about connection and expression.

Also, shoutout to my dad. I grew up traveling with him and my family while he sang on stage and shared his story around the world and his connection was also authentic and bigger than a performance.

I have the most amazing community that keeps me encouraged and laughing! You know who you are! I am constantly inspired by those around me and I would not be who I am if it weren’t for my deep friendships and support.

And mainly, now my inspiration is my daughter Frankie. She teaches me so many things constantly. Frankie reminds me to be my truest self and through this I am showing her she can be exactly who she is and can take up time and space, too.
