We had the good fortune of connecting with Chad Gerber and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chad, how does your business help the community?
Meloscene is working to make a meaningful impact on the community and the world by addressing the critical issue of under-appreciation and underpayment of artists in today’s digital age. We have created a platform where artists, whether they are musicians, producers, rappers, digital artists, or teachers, can monetize their work on their terms. This is vital in an era where big companies dominate the digital space, earning substantial profits from artists’ work while paying the artists next to nothing, and soon nothing at all. Recently Snoop Dogg earned just $45,000 from billions of streams while the music platforms earned billions of dollars from his brand and catalog being on their platform. It’s one of many a stark examples of this imbalance.

By empowering artists within our virtual studios and digital platform, we are building to a more vibrant, safe, and diverse cultural landscape. Meloscene is not just about creating financial opportunities for artists; it’s also about fostering deeper connections within the community. We facilitate a space where artists and audiences can engage more directly and authentically, leading to a stronger, more connected society.

Meloscene has become a movement. We’re building towards redefining the value of art and music in our society. I’m absolutely committed to empowering artists and nurturing a community where creativity can be celebrated and sustained.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My work is a blend of artistic passion and an obsession with innovation. I’m grateful for my achievements as a musician where I’ve reached gold and platinum records, which was useful in opening up my foray into the world of technology, particularly in AI and spatial computing. I’ve developed virtual reality music technology, which has been featured by the BBC and other international publications, along with pending patents in AI, spacial computing, and telecommunications that I’m hoping to launch in 2024. This technology lies at the heart of my efforts to revolutionize how music and art is created and experienced. It’s about breaking down barriers and connecting artists worldwide while providing them with a better option to streaming wages (or lack thereof).

My journey to this point definitely hasn’t been easy. It’s always a dance between the complex interplay of the creative process and technological innovation. Overcoming these challenges required an almost delusional persistence, a willingness to learn, and an openness to failure. Each setback taught me valuable lessons helped to keep me focused the vision.

One of the key lessons I’ve learned is the importance of adaptability. The music industry is constantly evolving, and staying relevant means being able to evolve with it, whether that’s through embracing new sounds or new technologies… or both.

I want people to know that my story is more than just music or technology in isolation. It’s about the similarities between these two worlds and how they can come together to create something truly transformative. I hope to inspire others to see the potential in combining creativity with innovation, and to demonstrate how technology can be harnessed to enhance and expand the artistic experience.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I mean first and foremost, we’re heading to Dino’s to get fueled up before heading to the Gibson Guitar showroom where we’re going to play guitars all night till it’s time to start studio hopping around town. Ultimately though we’ll land at a friends place and make more music in their studio till the sun comes up and we go get breakfast. After that swinging by Third Man Records will probably be on the list. I keep things pretty low key so hanging out in Cheekwood might be cool before the obligatory Music Row hop.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to my Grandfather Benjamin Gerber who recently passed at 95 years old. He inspired me to pursue the impossible no matter the odds.
